Ted Cruz and his allies are preparing for the coming National GOP Convention. According to NBC News, Cruz who recently attended a GOP convention in Texas told his supporters that the days ahead will be "challenging" for the Republican Party. He, however, expressed hope that those who remain loyal to him and the party "will be the remnant, will be the core of pulling this country back from the abyss."
Aside from this pronouncement, [he] has remained mum about whether he will throw his support for presumptive nominee Donald Trump. According to the NBC report, the support of Cruz and his allies in Texas is needed by Trump if he is squaring off with Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for the presidential elections. A Texan party elder, Steve Munisteri said that "Ted Cruz has led a national movement, a conservative movement. We certainly need solid conservatives to be behind our nominee [Trump.]"

Despite his failure to win over Trump, ... he is still hoping that when he attends the National Convention,... he will be able to bring about key changes in how the party governs itself and picks its presidential nominee. Aside from changes in rules, the party will also be working out its "official policy platform" as well as "determine how much power the RNC has to make new rules of its own."

I would welcome Steve back in as leader of the GOP in TX. He did a great job. He is a unifier and a builder. Bridges many gaps.

He will have no difficulty being re-elected.
That’s why closed primaries are the best way to go. Pubbies voting for pubbies. Commies voting for commies. No cross-over. No independents. No nobody! You can vote only if you’re registered either as a Republican or as a Communist, err, Democrat.
He really has hurt it for those conservatives that just wanted him to be a gracious good loser.
Need to research this. The rules committee makes the convention rules just prior to the convention. The slight majority are Cruz delegates. There were fights for these positions that made the newswire. Maybe one delegate from NH?
If he could pull this off, Ted and OPP super Pac would for 2016. Need to research more and see if the rules go to a floor vote. I am under the impression they do not. RNC uses the House rules and not Robert’s Rules of Order.
However, I feel in great hands with Paul Manafort. There is no way they will pull this junk on him and get by with it. I’m guessing it’s setting a plan in motion for 2020.
