Ted Cruz and his allies are preparing for the coming National GOP Convention. According to NBC News, Cruz who recently attended a GOP convention in Texas told his supporters that the days ahead will be "challenging" for the Republican Party. He, however, expressed hope that those who remain loyal to him and the party "will be the remnant, will be the core of pulling this country back from the abyss."
Aside from this pronouncement, [he] has remained mum about whether he will throw his support for presumptive nominee Donald Trump. According to the NBC report, the support of Cruz and his allies in Texas is needed by Trump if he is squaring off with Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for the presidential elections. A Texan party elder, Steve Munisteri said that "Ted Cruz has led a national movement, a conservative movement. We certainly need solid conservatives to be behind our nominee [Trump.]"
... Cruz and his allies in the Republican Party are EYEING TO CONTINUE THEIR FIGHT TO RUN THE PARTY. Despite his failure to win over Trump, ... he is still hoping that when he attends the National Convention,... he will be able to bring about key changes in how the party governs itself and picks its presidential nominee. Aside from changes in rules, the party will also be working out its "official policy platform" as well as "determine how much power the RNC has to make new rules of its own."
>>The key discussion points, which will also be the likely flash points during the convention, will include CLOSED PRIMARIES. THIS MEANS DOING AWAY WITH OPEN PRIMARIES AND THE "CONSCIENCE CLAUSE," which will RELEASE CONSERVATIVE DELEGATES FROM SUPPORTING THE PRESUMPTIVE DELEGATE, should that delegate represent views that contradict theirs or the party.

Well, I’m for closed primaries. If people don’t belong to a party they have no say. Allowing anyone to vote is just more looney psychological societal engineering. Especially there should be no one allowed to change parties the same year as a primary. You don’t get to wreck the other party’s process.
But our country rewards losers and morons now. So expect it to get worse.
“First Cruz falsely claimed that Ben Carson “
No. One of his volunteers tweeted a CNN story ...
I started a Cruz guy but have gone all in for Trump. That said, open primaries have served up terrible candidates like Mitt Romney and John McCaine. They allow the democrats to decide the opposition candidate and I’m against them.
No, For now, Florida works alright. Other states do fine with open primaries, it depends on the numbers of registrants.
According to TED’s new proposal—
FLORIDA-Over 1 million voters chose Donald Trump, if the 99 delegates had NOT been bound to Trump thru 3 ballots by FL Party Rule....I would suspect that 89 would be voting in July for -JEB BUSH. Ted may think they would vote for him even though he had 17% of the Florida vote and Jeb had 3%, but I know the majority are party insiders that LOVE the BUSHes.
When tens of millions of dollars are invested in OPP Our principles PAC - NeverTrump backing Cruz- Their primary goal was to woo delegates (not pay for commercials) You tell me. What is the price per head for a delegate?
It’s a crooked corrupt system and Ted wants to make it even more crooked.
Ted is raising more snakes and just bought a bigger new tent!
“I hate this. I have gone from thinking Cruz was the Number 1 pick to thinking he is mentally unbalanced.”
You and I have come to the same conclusion. Ted needs to take a long vacation.
Voting is part of government. As a dmall-governmrnt guy, Cruz wants to get rid of it.
It is the “conscience clause” that Ted is proposing that has me upset. As stated earlier why even vote if that is the case?
Wrong.
CNN never reported that Carson was suspending his campaign or dropping out.
Cruz’s campaign made that leap, and spread it to voters while they were voting.
Thus Lyin’ Ted was born.
Cruz is committing political suicide. I seriously doubt even Texans will reelect him to the Senate.
No it wasn’t rhetorical and I don’t think 1237 will shut him up or stop him for interfering.
I’m for a Cruz-free convention. NO speech for Cruz.
Here is the email from the Cruz volunteer. He only repeated the CNN story.
Dear ___,
Breaking News. The press is reporting that Dr. Ben Carson is taking time off from the campaign trail after Iowa and making a big announcement next week.
Please inform any Carson caucus goers of this news and urge them to caucus for Cruz.
The reason vidence says Cruz is an illegal alien.
I don’t have a problem with open primaries, especially considering that party membership has been dwindling over the years (true for both R and D).
I know people like to spin conspiracy theories about Dems crossing over to sabotage the vote, but I imagine the effect of this is statistically insignificant.
“HE WANTS TO ELIMINATE PRIMARY ELECTIONS?? SUBMIT TO CLOSED PRIMARIES SO WE HAVE 100% SUPER DELEGATES- UNBOUND?? “
Obviously you are responding to click-bait and have NO idea what a closed primary is.
FYI, a closed primary is one in which only those registered to the party are allowed to vote as opposed to an open primary where people can cross party lines to vote ...
Sure acting like a poor loser.
His connections are strong.
His family name and timeline are hypothetical.
His father was at the very least an informant.
His father hiked North for a reason- to avoid testifying.
Both father & son were assisted with school entrance and career along the way.
