It is ludicrous to argue that, because the hard Left is primarily responsible for the outbreak of chaos and violence that caused Donald Trumps Chicago rally to be canceled last night, it is wrong to condemn the thuggery Trump often encourages at his appearances. Trump has encouraged physical battery at his campaign events, even telling supporters hed pay their legal fees if they get arrested for assaulting dissenters. (See, e.g., Iowa event: So if you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of em, would you? Seriously. Okay? Just knock the hell I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees. I promise. I promise; see also Las Vegas event: regarding an unruly protester removed by security, Trump tells crowd, Id like to punch him in the face. Hes smiling, having a good time.) Trump has continued to fan these flames even after it has become obvious that some of his supporters are acting on the invitation to resort to violence. Incitement to violence is a crime; incitement to violence at a large rally is incitement to riot a crime that can get people badly injured or even killed.

If a BLM rally called for shooting white people, and the white people attacked the next BLM rally, are you going to blame the white people and not the BLM movement for stirring the pot??
What a crazy logic people are using against Ted Cruz!
know what else?
I fully realize that BLM doesnt need a reason to riot, they just need an excuse, Donald gave them one, one that Ted Cruz doesnt give when he speaks.
Well, that and the fact that no one listens when boring Ted speaks, and no one is at his rallies.
Demonstrably not true.
The response should have been directed at Bernie Sanders, whose people organized this for days. Start with Lenin, end with Stalin in his case.
The BLM etc aren’t going after Cruz because of his suggestions his supporters attack the thugs. It seems they started this because of his comments on immigration and mexicans.
Cruz should have just condemned the rioters, instead of trying to score cheap political points. A pox on all three of them - Cruz, Rubio and Kasich. They just ended any chance any of them had to win the nomination.
People who assert that Trump is advocating or inviting violence are dishonest.
Lemmie give you just a widdle tiny hint:
Not a whole lot of us think that WE CAN VOTE OUR WAY OUT OF THIS MESS ANYMORE!
Is this the National Reviews’ last gasp?
apples and oranges
regardless of what happens at Trump rallies does not preclude a full-throated condemnation of the Left.
no question that Ted used the opportunity for attempted political gain.
Why didn't Cruz speak those condemnations against Black Lives Matter when they were burning Ferguson and Baltimore? People in the real world are quite fed up that the likes of BLM and LaRaza are enabled to run amuck, while we're supposed to hide and pander.
Don't you see? Cruz is a tool of the globalist game.
That’s what Trump gets for wearing a short skirt and a low cut, revealing blouse. He was asking for it.
C’Mon Man! You are obviously blissfully disingenuous or even worse to really believe your own bullhockey or that propagated by someone else just to make it easy. Since when did BLM, Occupy, CPUSA, yadda, yadda, yadda EVER need an excuse to create mayhem? But then again, if it fits your agenda, it is only the rhetoric that matters to float your favorite to the top of your favorites excrement pile?
Andrew McCarthy has joined the totalitarian Musloid Left.
The protesters came before any remarks by Trump
The line about shooting someone was said ABOUT Trump by an anti Trump person. Trump merely referenced it and laughed about it.
Your argument about inciting is the same as blaming the rape victim because she wasn’t wearing a burka.
Well, if Trump is inciting violence, as you assert,it would be to violence by his supporters on his behalf. No. We go the opposite. Violent Bernie supporters crowd going after Trump. Seems to me the commentators who call Trump Hitler, a fascist, etc. are the ones who have incited the mob. The National Review is guilty too of incendiary rhetoric against Trump. I can just as easily lay the blame.
not really. he’s just shilling for Cruz using a GOPe-type argument that has been proven ineffective against the Left and their Media supporters
