I've come to this site every day since Ted Cruz became a national political figure. Perhaps I'm just getting old with a failing memory but I can't recall any derogatory posts about Cruz until Donald Trump began his ad hominem attacks on him. I don't remember Freepers attacking him as he built a record in the senate.
Can someone direct me to the threads and posts by the Freepers who now hate Cruz that were made prior to September of last year?
You too, and more than welcome!
I've traveled that same bumpy road, and no, it has not been fun at all. Ted was someone I greatly admired and trusted, prior to his running for president, and the subsequent findings of the due diligence I did on him during this campaign.
After having learned what I have about my Senator, I almost wish I hadn't looked. I could be enjoying the bliss of ignorance right now, and shouting, "Cruz 2016!!"
What?
Trump was born in America to two US citizens (his mother was naturalized prior to his birth). That makes him a natural born citizen, per the Framers' understanding of the phrase.
The other two leading candidates may be citizens, but NBC? Hardly.
Until the Carson issue? When Trump called him psycho?
Oh yes, it’s a full time job for some of them. Literally.
A CNN reporter tweeted that Carson was not going to New Hampshire or South Carolina after he left Iowa. Someone on Cruz's staff interpreted that to mean that Carson was dropping out of the race. I would have interpreted the reporter's words exactly the same way. If Carson was not going to visit the states hosting the next two primaries, why would anyone believe that he was still in the race?
In perfect hindsight, the Cruz staffers should have waited for confirmation from Carson. They did not, and Cruz apologized for their mistake.
The notion that this was anything more than a mistake falls apart on examination. Had Cruz or his staff known that Carson was not dropping out, they would also have known that Carson would quickly reaffirm that he was still running. The "dirty campaign trick" was guaranteed to blow up in the face of the Cruz campaign within hours. It would lose votes for Cruz in all subsequent primaries. That would have been obvious to Cruz and his staff.
It would have been an incredibly stupid campaign stunt.
Ted Cruz is not stupid. He would not have done it.
Of all the deal-breakers I ran into with Ted Cruz, that was the biggest of them all. If elected President, Ted (as implied by his statement) would NOT deport the illegals currently colonizing our country.
Like a slippery, sleazebag lawyer, he talks about not giving them citizenship, amnesty, or legalization, but what fool believes the courts would let that stand? If they're allowed by our government to remain here, then they WILL be granted full amnesty and citizenship.
There is no second class citizenship in this country, and Cruz knows it. He takes us all for fools on this - the most pressing issue of our time.
They have the new model Jesse Ventura, upgraded with new 10 grand suits, fancy airplane, funny hairdoo and orange skin. Only trump couldn’t fight his way out of a wet brown paper sack.
Perhaps if you put a little more oil in your lamp and trimmed your wick a bit you might see clearly in the light that Ted is a bit of a fraud.
But I see you admit you’re already low on oil.

Ditto!
Early voting ends Sunday, right?
If you notice, in my post, I didnât say anything about Trump. My post had nothing to do with Trump
You were deflecting in order to not respond about how trumpsters turned on anyone who criticized trump.
Since I don’t follow the conservativetreehouse I don’t need to address your comment on it. I don’t follow its tweets either. it is nothing to me.
They didnât turn on Ted Cruz, they actually like that dog in the hunt, they turned on Ted Cruzâs fleas who came to infest this site.
Th fleas were repeatedly warned that biting people was no way to bring them to like their dog but being fleas, they were to brain dead to listen to that good advice
I Appreciate your thoughtful reply with the knowledge that Trump isn’t your guy. But I wasn’t arguing the Iowa episode over again but using it to explain my opinion.
You were deflecting in order to not respond about how trumpsters turned on anyone who criticized trump.
Nope. I was answering your question directly as it related to the thread.
Good luck today!
you really didn’t respond but ok this isn’t a hill to die on.
Cheers!
I didn't say that, and it isn't true. I like both Trump and Cruz, though for different reasons. When my state's primary rolls around I will happily vote for one or the other depending on who looks best able to beat the most likely Democrat nominee.
But I wasn't arguing the Iowa episode over again but using it to explain my opinion.
Fine, but the "episode" was blown up into something that is simply wasn't. It was not intentional campaign fraud by the Cruz campaign. It was a mistake that would never have occurred without sloppy CNN reporting. I don't see why it would affect your opinion of Cruz.
