I've come to this site every day since Ted Cruz became a national political figure. Perhaps I'm just getting old with a failing memory but I can't recall any derogatory posts about Cruz until Donald Trump began his ad hominem attacks on him. I don't remember Freepers attacking him as he built a record in the senate.
Can someone direct me to the threads and posts by the Freepers who now hate Cruz that were made prior to September of last year?
I don’t like that he is pretending to be an outsider when his Campaign Chairman is Chad Sweet. - co founder of the Chertoff Group. And if you don’t know who that is...lots of people from banking and intelligence are involved - including former Director of CIA and NSA
I will vote for Cruz if he wins the nomination. Or anyone else, over Hillary or Bernie.
I do not hate him, I don’t even know him. But when he was presented as the inevitable candidate, alarm bells went off, as that was exactly how Obama was presented. As I did my own reading and research I learned that Cruz has a lifelong habit of not playing nicely with others, due to his conviction that he is smarter, better, and destined for greatness. That sounds like narcissism and we’ve seen that movie before too. The birthplace issue is ambiguous, everyone knows it, but when Cruz dismissed it as “settled” (the exact term Algore uses with regard to gorebal warming) another alarm bell rang. When I saw he was a Harvard lawyer who used his elite connections all his life to advance his career until it better suited his ambition to start calling himself an outsider, that added more doubt. As a junior senator he hasn’t accomplished anything other than making speeches, his colleagues dislike him, and he wasn’t even willing to finish out the term he fought so hard for before deciding he was ready for the big job. Since the primary began he has done some unethical things which I don’t need to enumerate and denied them all. He has also shown himself to be mediocre in the debates, not the vaunted debater we were told to expect, and he’s committed a number of errors, such as failing to report the GS loan, all of which add up to Ted Cruz being just another typical politician.
I’ve waited for decades to a real-life Hank Rearden to run, and I now have a businessman-citizen candidate to support- GO Trump!
I’m sure most people already knew that he worked in gov’t. Being a politician is not a disqualification for me, neither is being a doctor or businessman.
You’re welcome and I agree with you! Trump likes to talk AT people, but Ted does well talking WITH people. He would have won any debate on any day with Trump, one-on-one, I believe.

All I could find that Trump said regarding pro-life was this:
“Friends of mine years ago were going to have a child, and it was going to be aborted. And it wasn’t aborted. And that child today is a total superstar, a great, great child. And I saw that. And I saw other instances.”
The depth between the two men regarding abortion/life cannot even be compared. Not to mention Donald still believes in exception abortion, which is not pro-life anyway.

Cruz is smarter than you give him credit for. And, he’s a lot funnier. He has a self-deprecating humor that the general public will enjoy.. when they get a chance to really see it.
Trump is a blowhard, with a short fuse... and ZERO ideological base. We’ll never know which way he’ll go.
I’ll vote for Trump, gladly, if my only other choice is Hillary or Bernie... But, as long as I have a ROCK-RIBBED conservative like Cruz in the race? Trump has ZERO chance to get my vote. He lost that when he said “Bush Lied”.
I’m excited this year... cause, Kentucky hold a caucus on March 5. It’s an important date... and, most people in Ky have NO CLUE where, or how they’re supposed to vote. I feel like my vote is 10X more important than in any other election ever. It will go to Cruz... I hope it helps him.
What you are failing to see is that the poster asked for an opinion on Sen Cruz. I gave him my opinion. One doesn’t have to agree with my opinion or like it but it was an honest opinion offered to an honest question. Btw, I still respect Sen Cruz, that has not changed. However, my vote, my support, is fully behind Trump.
That’s probably part of it, suddenly about three months ago I started to notice any-Cruz threads pop up on here, Facebook, discus, and Breitbart and random anti-Cruz threads mimicking Trump talking points. Wonder how many started out as ‘paid’ agents??
They won’t stay home, they’ll vote for Bernie! He has a lot of the same positions.

Ted Cruz is the same guy with the same positions as when everyone around here supported him.
Yes, but now Ted Cruz has a Presidential campaign. And his campaign management skills have shown that he does not have any principles.
Aside from the fact that people look at a candidate’s record more closely as the election approaches, his handling of his campaign has been terrible. That doesn’t require any cherry-picking of candidate’s positions, whether they’re past, present, or future. It’s happening now. We’re watching Ted Cruz run a dirty campaign.
It’s a shame, really. I had high hopes for him that he was that honest voice he claimed to be. I’m cutting my losses on his failed promises early.
I have to vote on Monday because I’m leaving town and I’m voting for Cruz. But I will certainly vote for whoever is the nominee in the general.
Last May because:
Ted Cruz helped facilitate the nuclear Iran deal with his support of the Corker Bill. Only 4 scenarios exist for that.
1. He was bribed
2. He was threatened and caved
3. He is a traitor and really supported the deal
4. He was too stupid to figure out what the bill would lead to.
I used to like him a lot... until I got to know him during the course of the campaign. His ugly creepy side came out.
I don’t care how long you’ve been here; this isn’t about seniority. However, since you’ve been here so long, you may also know how Levin & Limbaugh have been idolized for their strong conservative careers. Yet, for some reason, you have turned on them. Either that or you are no conservative.
I’ve seen a lot of liberal talking points here lately. I have to check and see which forum I’m on.
#131 I’ll wager a bet that you’ll find a direct link between the Rove/W. Swooners and the trump army here that fly from one thread to another on full scale attack. Look at thru a few threads and look at who does the pinging to the same gaggle thread after thread.
Stuff has been happening since 2000. Some of the same players too. A couple of retreads in the gruop .
Turned or exposed? Trump supporters claim they are conservative while supporting the liberal agenda. Most Freepers are antiestablishment but are petrified of freedom.
