CHICAGO (CBS) — A Cook County commissioner and others have called on Gov. Bruce Rauner to declare a state of emergency in Chicago, after shootings and murders skyrocketed last month.
Commissioner Richard Boykin (D-1st) said he’s sending a letter to the governor, asking him to declare a state of emergency in the city, as a step toward quelling the alarming level of violence on the streets.
Chicago police have said nearly 300 people were shot last month, more than double the total from January 2015; and 51 people were murdered, an increase of 75 percent over last year.

Clearly what they need in Chicago is to enact some gun control laws. It is shocking that Chicago has no gun control laws. It is all the fault of those Republicans that have controlled Chicago for the past 50 years.

As I understand it, a person on parole does not have the same rights as most citizens. That is they can be stopped and searched, their cars and homes can be searched without warrants.
I suspect if they organized a crack down on known criminals, and be aggressive going after gang members, they may (and this is a big may) bring this violence under control.
It depends on how badly the race hustlers really want to stop the violence as oppose to allowing people to die to advance their cause.
I can predict one thing, if the government does begin to get aggressive, organizations like BLM will be in the street protesting.
I see, trying to blame a Republican governor for the violence in a Democrat run city. I don’t think the Gov will take the bait. Chicago like all long time D run cities is well on it towards becoming Detroit.
A few years ago, during an Olympics year, I recorded an event which led into Rachel Maddow’s show. I heard her say “San Francisco is what happens when liberals run cities, so why are conservatives so afraid (or something to that degree).” I guess Detroit, Chicago, etc. have never been influenced by liberals.

Politically this would be a lose lose lose situation for a Republican. If Bruce Rauner did “Declare Chicago in a State of Emergency”, he and the Republican party would be held responsible for Chicago by the Democrats and their media. They will own that cesspool lock stock and barrel.
My guess is Rauner will give in to the pressure and declare the emergency.
They ain’t known as the stupid party for nothing.
Which is why I added my prediction that if they did attempt to get control of the violence the protesters would be in the streets.
There is a solution to this (and it is not “gun control”) but it will take someone strong enough to withstand the politically correct forces that have been created in this nation over the past 50 years.

None well on their way to becoming Detroit, or Memphis, or New Orleans. Indianapolis has a GOP government and they’re almost there.

Rauner won’t do it. Right now he’s up to eye balls in a battle with that degenerate Karyn Lewis of the teachers union. It’s heating up and the fireworks are going to be amazing.

HA, if the violence stops, Al and Jesse n’em are out of business. If race goes away, the race hustler’s cash cow is gone.
If this was sparked by that recent shooting and knifings of that family on Chicago’s southwest side who are having their bodies returned to Mexico for burial. How about asking if they were illegals ?
If they were why should they be here ? Able to purchase property om their own name when a legal American retiree is not able to do so in Mexico or let alone vote ?
Someone should be checking that precincts polling sheet to see if that name is on there.
You are right to point out that some Democrat led cities don’t see to have the level of violence that others have.

Clearly, Democrats are not the solution.
If you remove the Democrat controlled meccas of Chicago, Detroit, New York and DC from the statistics, the United States would have one of the lowest gun crime rates in the world.
So why do two U.S. cities with similar populations and demographics have extremely different rates of gun crime? Let's compare Chicago and Houston.
Is it the cold weather? Or could it possibly be the level of Democrat imposed gun control laws?

What is needed is a few D-10’s and generous supply of C-4 to stop the violence. Level the whole area.
