Are you sure it's the Democrats that are the problem? Clearly, Democrats are not the solution.
If you remove the Democrat controlled meccas of Chicago, Detroit, New York and DC from the statistics, the United States would have one of the lowest gun crime rates in the world.
So why do two U.S. cities with similar populations and demographics have extremely different rates of gun crime? Let's compare Chicago and Houston.
Is it the cold weather? Or could it possibly be the level of Democrat imposed gun control laws?

Chicago reported 516 homicides in 2012 not 806.

Houston reported 217 total homicides in 2012.
Detroit, St Louis, New Orleans and Philadelphia were much worse places than Chicago in the large city categories. Chicago will be striving hard to catch up this year.
