Miss USA pageant is rescued by Reelz. The annual beauty competition which is held by Miss Universe organization partly owned by Donald Trump was previously dropped by Univision and then NBC after the real estate tycoon made derogatory comments about Mexican immigrants.
"The decision on the part of REELZ to acquire the rights to the Miss USA pageant was based on our belief that this special event, and the women who compete in it, are an integral part of American tradition," says Reelz's CEO Stan E. Hubbard in a statement.
"As one of only a few independent networks, we decided to exercise our own voice and committed ourselves to bringing this pageant to American viewers everywhere," the executive continues without mentioning Trump or the controversy surrounding his anti-immigrant remarks.
Miss USA will air live from Baton Rouge, Los Angeles on July 12 through the TV network which reaches around 70 million homes in the U.S. "The sash has been saved!" tweeted one of the 51 contestants, Miss Washington USA 2015 Kenzi Novell, in response to the new deal with Reelz was announced.

This is not something that I generally watch, but this year I’ll make an exception.
ILLEGAL Mexican immigrants.
One shouldn’t worry. Trump is used to contraversy and he will find a way to put on a good show regardless of the twits who jumped ship.
I hope that this is the most watched pageants ever! And wouldn't it be sweet if one of the Hispanics won?
I thought the “hispanics” dropped out because somebody was too stupid to understand what Trump said. But when the lyin’ king says some of “those folks” are “gang bangers”, not a ripple in the pond. Weird huh?
Will Comcast NBC now drop Reelz from its cable systems over this?
RE: This is not something that I generally watch, but this year Ill make an exception.
Are they going to ask the same inane question about gay marriage that they did Carrie Prejean ( who answered honestly that she was for traditional marriage and promptly got in trouble with the gay mafia ).
The one who asked the question BTW, is an entertainment blogger who was in the judges panel — a transvestite who calls himself — Perez Hilton.
I would like to watch but Comcast does not carry Reelz where I live.
I wish Reelz would internet stream the show.
I did a brief search but could not find any confirmation of a live web stream.
Any suggestions about watching it thru a 3rd party web stream?
What the heck is Reeleez?
Baton Rouge, Los Angeles. LOL
Sooooo tired of the lying lefty MSM.
He was speaking of ILLEGAL ALIENS, not LEGAL immigrants.
Sheesh. . and too many brain-dead mouth-breathing demonRats and “independents” vote based on the lies published in the MSM.
RE: Baton Rouge, Los Angeles. LOL
Don’t blame me, I just copy and paste.
It’s either going to be in Louisiana or California or the author confuses the abbreviation of the state with the abbreviation of the city, OR — there is a place called Baton Rougue in California not far from Los Angeles :)
Reelz is on my Direct TV and I don’t get many extras.
If your Cable provider does not have Reelz, call customer service and say that you want to watch the pageant. NBC and Univision were supposed to offer it, and the cable provider they has an obligation to provide it to anyone who would've watched it on those networks. When they say they can't, say of course they can make arrangements to air reelz programming on both of those channels or on a public service channel. The more calls they get, the harder it will be for them to pretend that denying our right to see that show is okay.
2. Reelz has a website that streams their programming. They also have the download to Television Fanatic, with lots of free TV options, old and new shows.
LET'S MAKE THIS THE MOST VIEWED PAGEANT IN TV HISTORY !!!
