The manager of one of Britains biggest bond funds has urged investors to keep cash under the mattress.

What is with people telling others to hide their dough under the mattress? You might as well have a neon sign with an arrow near your bed. Everyone knows “mattress” stands for garden :D
I lost all my cash n guns in a horrible boating
Accident
I converted all my cash into food and ammo.
I lost everything I have worked for, believed in and enjoyed in a horrible ELECTION accident.
Same here LOL.
“under the mattress” is not meant to mean actually put cash under your bed, but put it somewhere hidden that you can get to it. Banks don’t have much actual cash in their bank. Get some of yours now and put it away. Do it before September, like now.
I rode out 2008 and it is significantly higher than where it was. The markets climb a wall of worry. No risk no gain. Dogs will bark and the circus moves on.

Why September?
Cash only depends on the value behind it. In Germany around the time of Hitler, people hid tons of cash in their mattresses ...and then found that it was totally worthless. If you feel freaky enough to believe this “warning,” buy property or hard goods.
You haven't been keeping up with the signs. Like a blood moon.

“I converted all my cash into food and ammo.”
Me too. Which I promptly lost in a tragic boating accident.
Importantly, the automatic notification of cash withdrawal is now just $2,500, so if you want to store up some mattress money, you have to do it slowly, lest the authorities just seize your cash. Which they will do, and have done, a lot.

You are limiting yourself - have regular cash smaller bills (none more than a twenty), silver small coins.
When everything comes crashing down, money will be worthless, especially paper money. Those with food and ammo will be the ones that survive.
And why not some easily sold 90% US silver coins, too? I figure if there's a crisis with the dollar, silver will be worth more than its current price.
