At a reception at the State Department that marked the U.S. taking over the chairmanship of the Arctic Council, Secretary of State John Kerry said that if Benjamin Franklin lived today and was nominated for office he would never be confirmed. [ ]
(T)here is, of course, a second connection between Franklin and this reception, Kerry said. And that is that he liked to have a really good time, folks. And he didnt spare the booze, and while he was in Paris he led a life that clearly meant that had he lived today and been nominated, he would never have been confirmed for office. (Laughter.) Anyway, it just goes to show how the times change.

Other than ambassador to France, what office did Benjamin Franklin hold that needed to be “ confirmed”?
I think ketchup boy has his history confused
But right he is about how our standards have fallen. His fellow senator Ted Kennedy being a sterling example. However our standards are not complete sh!t because bubba Clinton was at least disbarred for lying about his adultery
Christ does not need to be elected. He already earned His office and title over the entire Earth by His own blood. Kerry speaks according to the standards of the god of this world.
Why is it that Kerry has to openly act out the precise goals of the communists that Skousen laid out in his book?
- Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
- Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the common man.
Just in casual chatter i found out that there are a huge segment of our population who know absolutely NOTHING about kerry’s Treasonous visits with the enemy, his lies before Congress slandering our military, the infamous “medal throwing” incident, his connection to Jane Fonda and “Winter Soldier”, nor his falsified records, nor his refusal to release his military record, nor his consorting with communists. They do not know that his Purple Hearts were for a small scratch and rice imbedded in his butt. Nor do they realize that he has a penchant for marrying rich widows, having fire hydrants removed, and not shoveling the snow in front of his ritzy Beacon Hill home.
My Mom’s chief quarrel with him is that he changed his name and isn’t really Irish! LOL!
Not to worry. The low-info (i.e. ignorant) voters are saying "Ben who?".
No but he would have fit right in the House and Senate. :-)
Benjamin Franklin achieved and created, and served our country a hundred thousand verifiable times more than John Kerry could ever begin to hope to achieve. The self-serving, lying pansy gigolo traitor is not worthy to whisper the name of Benjamin Franklin.
He’s giving the progressive/white man haters their new talking points. Watch how many times this is repeated throughout the next election cycle. This is all to support Hillary and stop talk about Bill’s cheating: “Clinton wasn’t near as bad as Franklin.”
Lurch is a comedian, a bad one too. If Lurch lived in Franklin’s time the only office he would have held was being a gofer for the Founding Fathers in Philadelphia. If he was in Boston he would be cleaning out stables for Samuel Adams or John Hancock. Really, comparing the men of today to the great men of the founding of this nation is a joke.
When Franklin went to Paris he tried to help his countrymen not sell them out.
He loved America so he couldn’t be a Democrat.
Pray America is waking
In other words to be confirmed to office today one would need to be like Kerry... A TOTAL IDIOT!
Of course he couldn’t. He was far too intelligent to compete with the morons we have in government now - elected by cretins.
Pardonnez - ‘ave you any grey poop-on?
Note the phrase “confirmed to office”, which in US context refers to an appointed post.
Probably the first thing *Kerry has ever said that is true. None of the founders could get elected or appointed to anything today. For neither party would have them and no press would ever cover them.
Does he mean similar to Bush 2 waiting until running for his 2nd term before his nominees were confirmed by a Democrat Senate?
