Are you not eagerly anticipating Donald Trumps announcement about whether he will run for president? This is a serious question, despite all the mockery that is aimed at the real estate mogul. Skepticism about his potential candidacy is understandable, but the tone towards Trump would likely change dramatically were he to announce his candidacy.

It sounds like Trump’s view is very similar to my own.
I don’t really get that fired up about abortion, though I am in principle opposed to it.
Thanks for your post.
I don’t see any of the open borders crowd flying at all with social conservatives as a whole. Huckabee can slide by the illiterates who have never examined his records.
Keeping rapists and drug dealers out is and quintessential social issue.
I dont really get that fired up about abortion, though I am in principle opposed to it."
Okay, maybe you can explain to me what that means, because I'm not understanding it.
Are you also opposed to a ban on partial-birth abortion?
Are you saying that you, like Trump, think abortion should be an option available to women?
Because I'll tell you....I don't get fired up about it but I'm opposed to it "in principle" sounds, as it does with Trump, like a load of BS.
So what does it mean?
It means I’m not a woman.
Ok?
No, not OK. You’re dodging the questions and not explaining your POV, which is far from clear.
Do you agree with Trump that there should be no ban on partial-birth abortion?
Do you think abortion should be an available option? And if so, what does opposed “in principle” mean?
You don’t need to be a specific sex to understand that abortion is murder.
I have said for some time now that IMO there are only two people with the force of personality to make significant changes in this country. Ted Cruz and Donald Trump. Ted Cruz who was my first choice has let his slip show by voting first for the Iran nuclear deal and now even worse this monstrosity of a trade bill.
Everyday I am becoming more convinced that we need a mature adult in the Whitehouse. These 40 somethings are just not ready for prime time. I hope Donald Trump decides to put his fantabulous life on hold for 4 year and announce that he is running. The most prescient thing I took away from Trump’s SC speech was the observation that “the politician are not going to get you to the promised land” True and true.
The subject is not critical to me.
I am opposed to abortion. That said, I don’t get that worked up about it.
If you disagree with Trump’s view (which has I believe evolved over time away from abortion) that’s fine - though I don’t think it is what you’re representing.
However there are very imporant issues in America today. One of the single most important is, that we have sent so many formerly American jobs to China and elsewhere.
That is a subject I get very enthused about, and nobody else in the party appears to give one flying ... fig as to how to bring them back.
Or even (whether) to bring them back.
Until that subject is resolved, I don’t have time for the issue of abortion.
You can stand firmly on principle. I agree with your position by the way. Stand up strongly against abortion. You will get “way to go” from me by the way.
But I am not that concerned with it right now.
There are bigger fish to fry.
Much bigger.
“You dont need to be a specific sex to understand that abortion is murder.”
I applaud and agree with your position. Now go tell it to the Supreme Court. They are the people who have institutionalized abortion via Roe v Wade in this country. Roe v Wade was originated and passed by Congress not the President of the US. The President has little or no say so in the issue of whether abortion will or will not continue in the United States.
Donald Trump is about jobs. If he announces and runs on jobs as I suspect he will he will be a force to be reckoned with. Right now most Americans are sick of being out of work. They are sick of millions of illegal aliens pouring into their country. They are sick of these trade deals that put our country at a disadvantage.
It's critical to the babies getting sucked out of wombs.
"I am opposed to abortion. That said, I dont get that worked up about it."
Murder of innocents is worth getting "worked up" over, don't you think?
"If you disagree with Trumps view (which has I believe evolved over time away from abortion)
Yes, they "evolved" right about when he was talking about running for president the first time. Pretty convenient timing!
"... thats fine - though I dont think it is what youre representing."
I don't have to represent anything. I gave you the man's own words.
"However there are very imporant issues in America today. One of the single most important is, that we have sent so many formerly American jobs to China and elsewhere."
Here we go
"That is a subject I get very enthused about, and nobody else in the party appears to give one flying ... fig as to how to bring them back.
Or even (whether) to bring them back."
Yeah, you're the only one who cares about that. The truth is that you don't understand why they've left in the first place, nor do you care to understand. All you want to do is repeat your compulsive mantra.
"Until that subject is resolved, I dont have time for the issue of abortion."
Good to know baby murder isn't on your radar.
I can't help but wonder what other liberals positions you have. I know support for universal health care is one, and we've just uncovered another.
"You can stand firmly on principle. I agree with your position by the way. Stand up strongly against abortion. You will get way to go from me by the way."
You're full of crap, Cringing. You don't get to say you "don't have time for" the issue of abortion, and then try to paint yourself as being against it.
"But I am not that concerned with it right now.
There are bigger fish to fry.
Much bigger."
Murder is pretty damned important, your compulsive obsessions notwithstanding.
I do not agree.
Jobs in America, is far more important.
Just saying.
FreeRepublic is anti-Jobs?
He doesn’t take himself seriously. And I concur.
There is nothing bigger than life.

EXACTLY! I think people are making a hasty choice without really thinking through the consequences when they say that economics is more important than morality.
Without a strong moral base under God....any society WILL fail. Period.
I'm not going to let that stand. Link to Ted Cruz voting for the Iran deal?
I haven’t heard about that, either. If you get a link, please ping. Maybe it’ll be from See BS.
What would ANY of the prez candidates be able to do to turn the American people back to God?
The nation’s relationship with God is a matter of the society, not of its politics. Politicians in general are just a tad too corrupt to be true prophets for the people.
There is no “letting it stand” Its a recorded fact that Cruz voted for it. Google it and you will be able to read numerous accounts of his vote. Then Cruz gave some BS weak excuse that at least now he would have some say so in it. I’m sorry I’m putting my pom poms down for awhile.
From The Right Scoop:
The Corker Iran bill passed the Senate 98-1 today and if you are like me, you are wondering if that one no vote was Ted Cruz. Well, it wasnt. He, along with all of his Republican colleagues voted to pass the Corker Iran bill despite the fact that it cedes treaty power in regard to this Iran nuclear deal to Obama.
Cruz explains why in a press release from just moments ago:
WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, released the following statement regarding votes on the Iran Nuclear Review Act:
This bill was a missed opportunity. If Congress had acted to defend our constitutional authority if Congress had adopted the Cruz-Toomey amendment then we would be able to stop a bad Iran deal. Instead, the odds are now overwhelming that under these ground rules President Obama will negotiate, and Congress will acquiesce to, a terrible deal that allows Iran to acquire nuclear weapons and will endanger the lives of millions of Americans and our allies.
I voted no on cloture because we should have insisted on amendments to put real teeth in this bill. Ultimately, I voted yes on final passage because it may delay, slightly, President Obamas ability to lift the Iran sanctions and it ensures we will have a Congressional debate on the merits of the Iran deal. I will continue to lead the fight to prevent the Islamic Republic of Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to protect the national security of America and our allies.
At least Cruz is honest about this bill and isnt acting as though it were some big victory, like McConnell and Corker:
Without this bill, there is no review, Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said during the closing debate, which shut off a bid from younger conservatives to toughen the language even if meant a collapse of support for the oversight. No bill, no review.
Many wish the bill was stronger. I dont disagree with them, but this is a piece of legislation worthy of our support, McConnell said Wednesday during a floor speech. It offers the best chance we have to provide the American people and the Congress they elect with power to weigh in on a vital issue.
So who was the one person to vote against the bill? Tom Cotton.
