Wow! What a finish!
After the game in an on the field interview, that player said that (paraphrasing) he had a vision that that was the play that was going to occur, and that he needed to be exactly where he was in order to get that pick.
I mean, no joke, he made it seem like he had a psychic vision or some other from of vision that allowed that to happen.
No hate here, I mean it’s just a game.
There had to be a winner and a loser.
Seattle’s been to the SB twice in the last two years, that’s a pretty good accomplishment!
Agree. And up to the VERY LAST PLAY either team could have won it!

I imagine these guys spend so much time studying film and putting themselves into the situation. I know Russel Wilson does all that visualization thing. Like when they won the coin toss he told his coach “I’m going to throw the TD to Kearse on the check” (or something like that).
I’m guessing that play he got the interception on he had studied so much, even dreaming about it, and it came up. Hard work and mental preperation wins games.

That to me was a legendary Super Bowl.

Carrol had some comments about the reason for it. And took the blame. Russell Wilson said he himself let his teammates down.
Marshawn Lynch walking out of the locker room was asked if he was surprised they called that passing play instead of giving him the ball. “No. It’s a team sport.”
It will be interesting to see if the LOB (”Lover of Brothers” in 2015 to emphasize their trust in each other) will continue in the off-season. I hope so, and not all sorts of nasty tweets, etc.

I’m sure this will get ‘Monday Morning QB’d’ to death every day this week. With a timeout, they could have done so many things. Could have tried to punch it it. Don’t make it? Call the TO.
Next play, do the pass, have the QB run it in if he can, throw it, if a receiver is open, or quickly throw it away if there isn’t.
Just so many options with the amount of downs they had, short distance, and the time out. Of course, had he thrown the TD on that play, they win and come out looking like geniuses. It just is what it was. It happens.

Why? The game was in hand when Leon was crusing into the endzone. The only thing the Cowboys lost was scoring 59 points as a record in a Superbowl. There was no “call” for Leon Lett on defense to recover a fumble and then have the ball knocked out of his hand right before crossing the endzone in a 52-17 ass whipping of the lowly bills.
Seattle not losing with class.
The defensive player made a good play. The NE coaches knew that was a play Seattle might run and had the team ready. The defensive player read the play well.
Pats DB #30 Duron Harmon, was in a position to break it up but he jumped over the receiver so as not to get a personal foul for "unnecessary roughness". The rules should allow a hit in that situation. If he had hit the receiver it would have broken up the play, but he would almost certainly have been flagged.

I wasn’t referring to the Super Bowl (I’d forgotten that one). I meant the game on Thanksgiving when Lett kicked a ball after a blocked field goal. The Dolphins got the ball back and then kicked the game winning field goal. I misremembered it as a fumble. Technically it was, because by touching it, Lett made it a possession change which allowed the Dolphins to regain possession and kick the winning field goal. It reminded me of the Seahawks blunder because it meant a game which had been won was given away.
We agreed that Belichick was unlikely to go all out against the Packers as they were very possible Super Bowl adversaries later on. This dialogue was reflective on the Patriots beating the Giants late in the ‘perfect’ season with great difficulty.
The Giants ended up winning the SB that year and it was a lesson for N.E.
I dunno, but the 7 game streak where the Pats beat 4 1st place teams resulted in the Nbr. 1 seed. The Patriots barely showed up for the final game against Buffalo. By that time, the focus was entirely on winning the Super Bowl.
Fantasy? Maybe, but in the end, they won the final game that mattered.
It was head shaking watching the ESPN table condemn Carroll for not taking another timeout when he saw a matchup he didn’t like...which would be illegal. It has been years since the NFL allowed back to back timeouts. An attempt to changeout players again would have likely resulted in a delay of game penalty.
Picking on the ‘rookie who hardly plays’ is usually a good bet.
Coaching call - insane way to give it away.
