The San Francisco 49ers will reportedly fire head coach Jim Harbaugh "within two days" of the end of the team's season, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports.
Harbaugh has one year remaining on the five-year, $25 million deal he signed in 2011.

Before the season even started they were cycling rumors that they didn’t want him. The Niner front office under cut his authority and sacrificed the season just so they can get rid of him, and sacrifice the next decade.
Well, I’m happy with Jason Garrett, who I think has really matured, but I would love to have Harbaugh as a second choice. 49ers will regret this, which of course doesn’t bother me at all.
Well, you know, just one more example (RG III, Michael Vick) that the “running quarterbacks” can’t handle the NFL. Yes, a QB is better if he is a little mobile (Aaron Rogers, Drew Brees) but even a statue like Manning or Brady can thrive-—but a primarily running QB? No. They never master the throwing fundamentals.
NFL?
NFW.
That was a golden age of football.
You are a Cowboy fan? Doesn’t this remind you of the Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson feud? 49ers are making a big mistake.
Again, I don’t know enough about the situation except that Harbaugh is a good coach.

What do you expect from an Organized Crime Football Familia?

That is what I mean. Jimmy Johnson built that 90s Cowboys team from nothing, and they won 3 Superbowls. Somewhere, Jerry Jones got the idea anyone else could do just as good during their clash of egos. He brought in Barry Switzer to take them to their 3rd and final Super Bowl, while the team slid into mediocrity for the next several seasons.
Oh yeah. I know that story. But there was more to it. Jimmy didn’t have to deal with true free agency. Switzer easily could have won 2-3 more Super Bowls but simultaneously the Cowboys lost a star pass rusher (Hayley), star TE (Novacek), their #2 WR (who wasn’t replaced really till last year, their superstar CB . . . All this left Jerry thinking he was just “one player away” when in fact they had lost 5-6 critical pieces.
That early 90s team was damn good. They looked unstoppable. Anyway... Dallas looks great this year. I hope they make a SB run.
Yeah it’s what you can get with a good talent evaluator (Johnson), an owner willing to spend (Jones) and no salary cap. I think if there had been no cap, Dallas would have won several more.
And... it’s done
