Four teams in playoff:
1: 'Bama
2: Oregon
3: FSU
4: THE Ohio State University
Yeh but TCU lost the Baylor game and so Baylor doesn’t make it either. TCU operates on a thin margin in this format of assesment.
If OSU prepares as well as they did yesterday, they’ll munch on Bama.
The fact that they didn’t make it 8 teams shows just how addicted to dumb college football is. 8 teams is an easy playoff to structure with and will get rid of most of the controversy, automatic entry for the big conference winners, pick the rest. 4 guaranteed there would be a conference winner out and thus guaranteed it would stay a mess.
Well brother as a life long Baylor fan it looks like we both are feeling the pain today.
I knew yesterday that the pathetic FSU had to lose for either of the Big 12 teams to get in.
It’s too bad. Baylor and TCU could go toe to toe against anyone in that playoff.
IMHO Ohio State shouldn’t be ahead of either Big 12 team.
Looks like the committee just didn’t want to pick between the two.
It seems from looking at the rankings that there is a clear distinction between the teams with 1 loss and 2 losses. This year I would have put 6 teams in the playoffs. Let eh numbers 3-6 play their way into the semis. If some year tree are 8 teams have 4 first round games.
Adjust the number according to the rankings each year or face the same crap every year as some great teams sit it out.
Based on the snub by allowing the winner of the weakest major conference in the nation to attend, I won’t be watching. It is still just a beauty contest.
Ohio State has the other OSU to thank. Beating OU put the strength of the Big 12 in question, and gave them the edge in the end.

I had many a year in Indiana and learned to wish bad on that team from ohio and that team up north.
That team up north is sucking. That team from ohio looks really, really good.
Bama v ohio will be a good game. That will be the game. Oregon will make jameis cry like a little girl. I'm thinking like 55-14. It will be ugly.
This FReeper thinks Oregon is best this year. We shall see.

They state that if a conference has not championship game, that the head-to-head win will establish the highest ranking team from that conference. Therefore, Baylor would jump TCU. I believe this is exactly what happened.
