A magnetic field shift is old news. Around 800,000 years ago, magnetic north hovered over Antarctica and reindeer lived in magnetic south. The poles have flipped several times throughout Earth's history. Scientists have estimated that a flip cycle starts with the magnetic field weakening over the span of a few thousand years, then the poles flip and the field springs back up to full strength again. However, a new study shows that the last time the Earth's poles flipped, it only took 100 years for the reversal to happen.
The Earth's magnetic field is in a weakening stage right now. Data collected this summer by a European Space Agency (ESA) satellite suggests the field is weakening 10 times faster than scientists originally thought. The article title is a bit misleading. The article says it could flip in a lifetime, not in our lifetime.

If all the people on earth held onto magnets and pointed them to the earth’s core we could flip it back..... so sayeth my illogic.
Corrolary: Earth’s magnetic poles could flip later than originally expected.
Yellowstone Caldera could explode catastrophically in our lifetime.
A ELE meteor could strike earth in our lifetime.
The San Andreas Fault could trigger a magnitude 15 quake in our lifetime.
Bigfoot could be captured in our lifetime.
Iceland volcanoes could destroy half of Iceland in our lifetime.
Real scientists could devise a way to get the actual climate data of the last 20,000 years and get a handle on the "global Warming" issue.
The ignoramuses in National government could finally realize that "Global Warming is a monumental scam and that CO2 is a natural gas essential to life on earth and to a balanced planetary environment.
Anything is possible, but I don't plan to put my affairs in order just yet. But I will continue to campaign against delusional controlling twits, official ones or delusional ones.
Am I the only one who ever wondered who assigned the original up and down to the orientation of earth? Was it arbitrary?
Could all our maps be just as useful if north and South were reversed? And our solar system planets revolved around the sun counterclockwise?
Does the Universe have a "North and a South?"
Does our Solar System?
Does our galaxy's up and down, north and south, align with every other galaxy we know of?
Are we picking nits about a purely arbitrary historical decision?

I’ve heard of this, and it’s supposed to be an enormous catastrophe, but I’d really like someone with some scientific savvy to explain this to me.
I mean, I’ve heard that the oceans would flow over the continents and the mountains would become islands, and the continents would go to the bottom of the oceans and... what?
So north becomes south and south becomes north, then... so what?
I mean, the Earth is a little ball in space where there’s no such thing as “up or “down” so.... what’s the difference?
Anyone care to explain or point me in the direction of a web site that explains it in a credible way in simple terms a layman could understand?
God created the earth and I think he explains it quite well in prophetic scripute...there will be no magnetic catastrophe, because that would contradict scripture of Jesus return....relax and read below.

The mass hysteria we have over all these things are because we are facing the end times....but Christians have nothing to worry about. Even if I were a betting woman, which I am not, we are in the last book...Revelation, and at 100% prophecy rate of being correct, why believe anything else?
Fear is the opposite of Faith....Faith is a whole lot more peaceful....as we watch the unbelievers run around like ‘chickens with their heads cut off’ with all kinds of theories. God is still in control and on the throne, whether they like it or not!
