Researchers found that compared with people who did not drink coffee, men who consumed six or more cups a day where 10 per cent less likely to die during the 14 years of the study.
For women there were 15 per cent fewer deaths for those drinking six cups or more.
The findings, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, showed that there was a marginal difference for men drinking one cup per day, but two drinking two to three cups a day were 10 per cent less likely to die, those drinking four or five cups per day were 12 per cent less likely to die than non coffee drinkers.
For women there was no effect seen for one cup or less per day. Those drinking two or three cups were five per cent less likely to die compared with those who drank none at all and those drinking four or five cups were 16 per cent less likely to die.
The researchers said the effect was seen across almost all causes of death including heart disease, respiratory disease, stroke, injuries and accidents, diabetes, and infections.

Caffeine has kept me mobile (but not necessarily alive) for decades. ;^)

I do the same only I use real sugar for the first two cups and no sweetener for the rest. Heavy whipping cream beats the heck out of half-n-half for creamy richness in a strong pot of sumatra blend...
If you drink it black, it needs to be good coffee. I am blessed to have a friend who is a roaster...roastmaster? Anyway he started a coffee business recently and brings me bags of beans that I grind fresh every morning for my two daily mugs. Do a search for JBrooks coffee roasters to find him.
And once you buy a bag of beans or ground coffee, wrap it up tight and put it into a zip-loc bag. Don’t just leave it loosely closed.
I'm a big time coffee fan. I even roast it using a nice drum roaster. I still use milk and sugar, though. 1/5 milk to coffee. I think it brings out a great flavor. Yes, I'll drink it black now and then, but I enjoy it this way.
#39 - Just awesome!
Yep...loaded with dihydrogen monoxide.
So if I keep drinking coffee I’ll never die??
Cool.
Yeah, me too. I’ve already had enough coffee this morning to kill a small lab animal.
Good news for me. Now I need a similar result for cigarettes.
I quit tobacco entirely about five years back. I quit tailor makes a good fifteen years before that. While still smoking ready made cigarettes my lungs hurt, I was out of breath and my lungs would not clear easily. I changed over to roll your own and did better, less chemicals in the tobacco. Then went to high grade pipe tobacco roll your own, again did better, no chemicals. Also good cigars, again no chemicals.
Personal opinion and direct observation, avoid ready made cigarettes, they are full of chemicals having nothing to do with tobacco other than stopping mold. Tobacco in moderation, with out the poisons, is better.
They are bad. I run to mitigate the effects. Has worked so far!
“Pretty sure drinking distilled water is very bad for you.”
Nope.
Obviously drinking gallons a day of any water is bad for you, but the difference between tap water, spring water, de-ionized water, and distilled water is insignificant.

I’m good for 100, if this is true! We bought a Keurig two years ago, and I’m more of an addict than ever! I love the Barista Prima French and Italian Roast. But it’s OK—I can quit anytime!

I’d say it is about time the ‘church’ had a new revelation from its modern day ‘profit.’
A couple of things come to mind:

Hey Tommy, are you listening?
What is the name of that particular press-brewer? I remember a friend saying that it made excellent coffee.
