You cant argue with the research
The possible health benefits of sex are spelled out in a soon-to-be-published article in the Journal of Sexual Medicine. The editor-in-chief of that journal, Dr. Irwin Goldstein, says that when you read about the physical benefits of sex, you cant help but say, Holy God! Sexual activity is a very important thing to do. Human beings were really meant to do this. Goldstein is also the director of sexual medicine at Alvarado Hospital in San Diego, California.
In the article, which reviews several decades worth of studies on sex and health, researcher Stuart Brody concludes that penile-vaginal intercourse and not other types of sexual activity confer the most health benefits. For example, five years ago, Brody, now a professor of psychology at the University of the West of Scotland, asked 46 people to give a stressful speech to a nasty audience. . . . . The same wasnt true for people whod participated in other forms of sexual activities. Brody says evolution strongly rewards behaviors that increase the likelihood of successful gene propagation, and only one behavior penile-vaginal intercourse is potentially reproductive.

The devil’s always in the details.
Sigh...it’s always thus...
dang details.
What???
I don't mean to laugh, but sex is the central reason for male/female pair bonding. The stronger the bonding (love), the more likely that pair is to frequently engage in sexual intercourse.
I am having surgery on Saint Valentine’s Day, but I might be able to delay it.
Thirty seconds? I hope you are kidding otherwise I feel sorry for your female partners.
Wow, that doesn’t border on delusional, it digs under the fence and crosses the border.
You can’t honestly believe that nonsense? It takes away a man’s manliness if he has too much sex, and makes women hate him? On what planet?
Real love is having less sex until we eventually only have spiritual love left and warmth for our mate? Again, either delusional or perhaps just seen through the eyes of a nonagenarian. If the latter, I apologize. You’ve just forgotten.
Honey? Gee, I didn’t know you had an FR account...
Same here! I have ED because she wished it on me. It’s love not lust ya know. :-(
Are you too chicken to tell it?
hehehaha
Yes, that is the primary intial attraction. Hopefully it has more of a love of right than a love for the woman’s body. My point is very true and is that the love must transcend sexual love in order for a more happy and fulfilling spiritual love to take it’s place completely....eventually. www.copingstrategiescd.org has that pathway for eventually a more fulfilling union!
Sexual love between husband and wife are one of God's greatest gifts to marriage. Rejecting that gift is nothing less than spitting in the eye of God.
That is unarguably true via the numbers.
But does having sex make you healthy, or does being healthy make you want to have sex?
I think the latter is more true than the former - despite the former being the ENTIRE BASIS for the article.
Most men prescribed Viagra would have little problems with erectile function if they lost 20 pounds and/or stopped smoking.
If the sex you are having “empowers the women to hate you” - you are DOING IT WRONG.
Not one woman I have ever had sex with has hated me or hates me. If fact after a break up over half of them have come back for more sex - because they liked it!
The most manly men I know HAVE LOTS OF SEX.
Healthy people HAVE LOTS OF SEX.
Dried up crusty celibates are not manly.
So that explains why all my family lives to near 100! Sex every two weeks isn’t enough, IMO. We’ve been playing it safe and about every other day after 25 years together.
Sex is a healthy and basic component of any monogamous relationship. So is a deep and abiding mutual love, which might be better defined as a strong affinity between mates, strong agreements on the 'big picture' of life, and a high degree of open communication with one another.
In my opinion, all of these things are essential for an optimum marriage. I would never agree to work toward diminishing a single one of them. On the contrary, I think that people who find a way to strengthen all of these things (including sex), have the very best marriages.
They were touring a chicken farm separately as was their usual practice when the farmer got flustered because a rooster was making a big production out of having his way with a hen right in front of the First Lady!
Nonplussed Mrs. Coolidge asked “About how many times a day would you say that rooster has his way with a hen?”
“About twenty times a day” the farmer answered.
“Be sure to tell the President that!” Mrs. Coolidge advised.
When he informed the President of this, and that the First Lady wanted him to know, old “Silent Cal” asked....
“Every time the same hen?”
“No. Every time a different hen.” the farmer answered.
“Tell THAT to the First Lady!” the President quipped.
In Reproductive Biology this is known as the “Coolidge Effect” - where a male who has previously inseminated a presenting female will decline to inseminate her again after she presents - but WILL inseminate a NEW presenting female - somewhere he manages to find the strength!!!! ;)
So, she cut you off? Bummer!
