Years back when I lived in the suburbs a friend had a huge white shepard. He had to give everyone the once over when you came into the house and then walked away if you were OK. One night the owners came home, the back door was broken into..the kitchen and livingroom had blood around and the dog was peacefully sleeping in his bed....He did his job and went back to sleep...never found out who broke in but bet they didn’t do it again....
