CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — Scientists have found the biggest black holes known to exist — each one 10 billion times the size of our sun.
A team led by an astronomer at the University of California at Berkeley discovered the two gigantic black holes in clusters of galaxies 300 million light years away. That's relatively close on the galactic scale.

The University of California, Berkeley, team led by Nicholas McConnell and Chung-Pei Ma said one black hole is located in NGC 3842, the brightest of a cluster of galaxies about 320 million light years from Earth.
The second hole is of “comparable or greater mass” and is located in NGC 4889, the brightest galaxy in the Coma cluster, about 335 million light years away.
“These two black holes are significantly more massive than predicted,” the astronomers wrote.

I’m trying to get a feel for something 10B times the size of the sun.
By “size” do they refer to volume or mass?

Ahem. Nobody has ever “seen” a black hole. A number of notable cosmologists doubt their existence. Their “presence” is always inferred from the observed motions of matter adjacent to their supposed positions. A number of other ideas have been put forward to account for these motions.
Just another example of how Big Science now legislates hypotheses and theories into “Laws” when nobody’s looking.
