Oviraptor tails were also extremely muscular, and, according to fossil impressions, had a fan of feathers at the end. In Persons view, oviraptors could very well have used their muscular, flexible tails to wave their feathers in order to impress potential mates, just as peacocks use their magnificent jewel-toned feathers in courtship displays today.

2) Make observations.
-For example: Your 5 senses. Hearing, feeling, tasting, sight, and smell.
3) Gather information.
-Make a list of all the places you could gather information for a scientific question.
4) Form a Hypothesis.
-What you think the outcome of the Experiment will be.
5)Experiment.
-Controlled experiment: only one variable is being changed/ manipulated at a time.
-Control: is the part of an experiment that is standard against which results are compared.
-Dependent Variable: is the condition in the experiment that is being tested. (is the variable that you would be measuring)
-Independent Variable: is the variable that is being changed/ manipulated in the experiment.
-Constant: any variable that remains the same for all experimental groups.
6) Collect Data.
-Numerical data is often displayed in a chart.
7) Analyze Data.
-Graph your results.
8) Draw a conclusion.
-Compare your results to your Hypothesis.
The question that they are putting forth as a proved scientific theory does not even get past the first step of science. No wonder people believe in evolution and global warming. They are beliefs and not even good theories.
The answer is actually much simpler. Dinosaurs used the feathers on the ends of their tales as a simple domestic “tool”. The tail would be whisked rapidly in a brisk “back and forth” manner as a means of removing dust and other particulate from their furniture, mantle pieces and window sills, etc.
Prove me wrong...
I wouldn’t presume to do that. There was no TV back then ... hence no Oxyclean or Swiffers. It makes complete sense that dinosaurs would use what they had.
A prehistoric feather-duster, if you will.
I think you should contact the team that did the study about that.
I’m taking your post with a grain of salt because your tagline says you’re voting for someone who is not running.
The election is a year away. I do not see anyone selected yet anyway.
Whaddaya mean, “did?” Of course we do!
"Hey baby, what's an apex predator like you doing in a geological era like this?"
Thank you very much. I’ll be here until Wednesday. Try the chicken!
That would offer a new purpose for those tail-feathers.
Excruciatingly correct etiquette suggests that when a gentleman relinquishes his seat for a lady, he should engage her in conversation for a moment to allow the heat of his body to fade from the chair.
My "Note to self" in this regard is to not attempt to accelerate this process by waving one's hand in the area.
“Been in this jungle long, Dino?”
“Hubba Hubba!”
I still do, for all the good it does me.
:)
[anybody else ever wonder how she emptied that thing?]
