The alien planet with two suns, as in the "Star Wars" films, will be visible
Scientists have spotted a real-life Tatooine a world with two suns, like Luke Skywalker's home planet in the "Star Wars" films and you should be able to see this alien star system, too, using a good pair of binoculars.
Astronomers announced the discovery of the alien planet, called Kepler-16b, Thursday. The Saturn-mass planet orbits a pair of stars known as Kepler-16A and Kepler-16B. Someone on Kepler-16b would see two suns hanging near each other in the sky, just as Luke did on Tatooine.

"Someone on Kepler-16b would see two suns hanging near each other in the sky, just as Luke did on Tatooine." Provided of course that the surface temperatures on Kepler-16b didn't boil away the vitreous humor in the viewer's eyes first.

If the name is being used officially by NASA, or in the press, look for a lawsuit from Lucasfilm. Copyrighted term. He’ll even try to make $$ from other planets.
Anyone ever wonder what being ON those other planets would think of our arrogance in naming them?

OK, did Han shoot first or is BluRay some kind of new technology that can revise history?

I’d like to see Lucas try.
I think he got the name from an area where they filmed those scenes.

If that creature is on the new planet, cool...as I’ll need a new rug for my new space home.

Han indeed ‘shot first’ but Lucas had second thoughts in 1997 on how children would feel about Hans initial morally ambiguous character who later change into an hero - so he changed it! but later on regret that he changed the scene.

Reading this article, I wonder how many people have been suckered into believing astronomers have actually observed Kepler 16-b through a telescope.

What arrogance? Would the residents of another world assume we`re just going to magically know their name for the planet we can only see from afar? THAT would be arrogance.

Kinda funny considering the massacre of the Younglings in Episode III. Good thing those Light Sabers cauterize the wounds. Could have been a bit messy.
I guess Lucas has a short memory span. LOL
