Scientists found that small amounts of dark chocolate may improve health in a similar way to exercise.
The researchers focused on the mitochondria, the tiny powerhouses in cells that generate energy, and discovered that a plant compound found in chocolate, called epicatechin, appeared to stimulate the same muscle response as vigorous activity.
''Aerobic exercise, such as running or cycling, is known to increase the number of mitochondria in muscle cells. Our study has found that epicatechin seems to bring about the same response - particularly in the heart and skeletal muscles.''

103. Just Wow!
My Dad just had his 95th birthday. Grew up on sat fats. His favorite meal is a grilled rib eye steak.....leaves nothing but the bone. He also drinks a couple (I suspect more) of shots of Maker’s Mark each night and still smokes half a pack a day. His doctor is always harping at him to stop his vices, says it will kill him. Dad just laughs at him.
I think that at his age he should eat, drink and smoke whatever he wants.
Try adding some heavy cream the next time you make chicken salad. Got this idea from the Silver Palate Goodtimes Cookbook - fantastic recipe.
Reed’s Gourmet chocolate milk adds potato flakes. Very smooth. Uniquely Idaho.
I think I have that cook book! Do you ever make the onion soup from it? Yum!
Heavy cream is one of those things that makes everything taste better. Along with cream cheese, and bacon.
Anyone trying to sneak one of Moochelle’s fries will recieve nothing but a bloody stump.
She’s just mad because she and her youngest kid are tubbies and black women are often fatties. Remember after Katrina when they were rescuing people in boats... they could only get a couple in the boat at a time because they were so fat. 200+ pounds fat. I doubt those people are eating at Olive Garden. They get fat by sitting on their a$$es and getting welfare and food stamps.
This is excellent news! :)
I think I'll do some "exercising" right now.
This is only for noting how happy it will make you. It is not necessarily recommended form.
From Milky Way's NY Show:
{THUD!}
I was hoping my M&Ms would become a new food group.

Hey buddy, good to see you! God bless!
I want your goodies!
Well, maybe someday you can be my ex-wife ;-)
Scharffen Berger 99% cacao, unsweetened. [drool]
Flake off some chips and enjoy! It’s smooth as silk, and it melts luxuriously in your mouth.
If unsweetened doesn’t float your boat, it isn’t the chocolate you want, but the sugar. Not a good sign.
