Went to my doctor for the first time in awhile and got some bad news. My A1C blood sugar was almost 12 and my blood pressure averaged about 190/110. They wanted to admit me right then and there, but instead gave me a shopping bag full of medications. Since my wife had her stroke I haven't really been taking care of myself and now it's come to a head. If I don't do a complete 180 I'll be dead before the year is out. I have committed to mall walking (exercising) seven days a week for 30 minutes a day and cutting my carbs and sugars drastically. Please pray for me or think of me as I try to save my own life. Thanks!
My prayers are with you! Bring that blood sugar and high blood pressure down. You can do it!
Good luck. Get walking.
You are in my prayers
I will pray for you! Please take care of yourself! Eat healthy and keep up the daily walking!
Geez, old FRiend. I really hate hearing that news. You’re a pillar of our community, and a valued supporter of everything we all hold dear.
Please take that walk every day. We need ya around.
Prayers for you, 2D. You’ll enjoy the new you!
My numbers are not quite as high, but I am on a fairly
strict diet and have begun to exercise. To really get my weight down I need to walk for about 1-2 hours per day.
Good Luck!
Prayers amigo!
The BP is up there but not too awful. I can’t interpret A1C, but can you give us a handle on the mg/dl?
I am sorry about your wife — the burden for you must be really heavy and difficult to carry. Of course if your health is flagging, that is even more a problem and compounds your burden — let us all pray to break the cycle.
I don’t know who we ping for the prayer warriors but you have mine and a BTTT for what it is worth.
I’m pretty heavy so 30 minutes is probably all I can do at this point. Even that is going to be tough at first.
Praying for you.
Prayers for your health !
May I ask, how old are you?
You need to get that weight down to improve your A1C.
We want you here for a long time 2dv.
Prayers extended 2ndDivisionVet for your health to improve immediately if not sooner!
51 as of last February.
Well, good luck with this... I don’t understand the sugar thing and I’m a type II. I take glempride and monitor my sugar every morning and it’s in the double digits. I think the biggest thing regarding blood sugar is not to eat anything after dinner. It works for me anyway...
Your blood pressure probably is a bigger concern. Need to get it down.
Get yourself walking, but don’t push yourself too hard at first. Gradually build up to 1/2 hour a day or more.
Prayers for you, Vet!
