Palin vs. Christie: GOP rock-star feud
The Hill ^ | 9 MAR 11 | Christian Heinze

Posted on 03/09/2011 9:12:49 AM PST by kbennkc

Republican Party favorites Chris Christie and Sarah Palin are engaged in a feud of rock-star proportions.

The New Jersey governor and former Alaska governor are two of the best-known figures in the GOP, and both have been mentioned as possible 2012 presidential candidates.

But neither seems to like the other very much.

Their feud appears to date back to Christie’s 2009 gubernatorial campaign, when he declined to have Palin, a popular figure with the conservative Tea Party movement, campaign

I wasn’t aware that Christie had taken that many shots at Palin. I guess it’s understandable that she fired back, but she’s going to need to grow a thicker hide if she hopes to make a run for the nomination. If it’s this easy to get to her then her opponents will captialize on it.

I see you're still at it with the Palin needs to grow a thicker skin meme.

Are you going to say that every time Palin responds to a potential opponent?

Christie commented on Palin 3 or 4 times. Palin then commented on Christie.

What exactly is your problem with that?

If I said that every time Palin complained about someone criticizing her I would be very busy indeed.

Thanks for the throw away response.

You didn't answer the question.

As far as I can remember, shots have been taken at conservatives and republicans and nothing is ever said or disputed. Generally everything is ignored even when it is out and out lies or distortions.

Growing a thicker skin is not even a factor. To stop ignoring and setting the record straight is.

In line with your thinking or solution, G W Bush must have had elephant hide and that tactic worked so well didn't it?

Divide and conquer. They want to encourage “feuds” on the right whenever possible. They will do anything to prevent 0bama from getting batted around like the sock puppet he is.

“Christie fits with New Joisy, but I think his shtick will get old pretty fast in the rest of the country.”

Its already getting old with me. The guy is conservative for NJ, too liberal for the country.

I really don’t understand why Sarah picked this fight or did I miss something? It makes no sense. Is she really so petty about Christie’s declining her offer to campaign?

Have faith. Saint Sarah never makes mistakes.

She's just setting the record straight, something I hope she continues to do. She's not letting lies, or malicious comments that could lead to people believing things about her that are not true, go unanswered.

Sarah Palin is the only viable candidate CONSERVATIVES have on the field right now

Why is she any more or less viable than Michele Bachmann or Herman Cain?

How did Sarah question Christie’s courage again? I don’t see it. She never said it. She did point out that her OWN budget cutting in good times took courage. Bob

I apologize. I’ve been haggling with liberals all morning, and guess I’m not in a good mood right now.

She is more viable b/c of her governmental executive experience, and the fact that she is better known and has MORE MONEY. I really love Cain and Bachmann, BTW. Bob

She's just setting the record straight, something I hope she continues to do.

How did she do that with Christie when she downplayed the way he faced off against unions and Planned Parenthood and brought fiscal sanity to a blue state?

That wasn't an appropriate response that helps conservatism.

"Sarah" is heads & shoulders beyond Governor Cramden. He'd do well to keep his mouth shut, or even better, stuffed with manicotti so he'd be busy chewing rather than in spewing out inane remarks in regard to Mrs Palin.

Mrs Palin, as Wasilla mayor, cut property taxes by 75%; eliminated personal property; business inventory taxes.
I believe property taxes in NJ have been raised since Gov Cramden took over and that tax hike had his blessing.

Palin recognizes the importance of a person's property being just that - a person's property. When that property can be taxed it can be confiscated too. An egregious violation of the principle of liberty.

I guarantee you that what really PO’d Sarah is Christie’s observation that she shouldn’t have defended herself against attacks that she was an accessory to murder in Arizona. Christie was correct that Sarah would have been a liability in NJ, had she campaigned there. Bob

I don't understand why you are not informed enough to understand Christie threw the first jab. I didn't think Christie was that petty and thin-skinned where he had to lash out for no reason on a GOP frontrunner. His insecurity is telling.

Feck off. Christie’s ‘eye roll’ in response to being asked about Palin running for POTUS shows exactly the kind of person he is.

Remember when Christie ROLLED his eyes at the mention of a Palin presidency? * On Jimmy Fallon http://blogs.wsj.com/metropolis/2010/11/23/christie-rolls-eyes-at-prospect-of-palin-presidency/

He and McDonnell asked her not to campaign for them.
They are not best buds.
