What's Your Dog Thinking?
Big News ^ | March 16, 2010

Posted on 03/19/2010 8:56:06 AM PDT by Kensy1

“Bo, a shelter rescue dog with his own blog, gives up the dog’s point of view on his life, his family, cats, etc. This is a hilariously funny, sometimes sarcastic, 15-year account of one dog’s home life with Mom and Dad. This is one book dog lovers won’t be able to put down–and it also makes a great gift!” –American Dog Magazine

The book is dedicated to rescue and shelter workers who make this world a better place, one animal at a time. The author donates 10% of the proceeds to help homeless dogs.

Nothin but rescue dogs for me. You can claim a dog doesn’t recognize when things are better or express gratitude but I don’t buy it. My rescue dogs have been the best dogs I’ve ever had.

Mine came from a place where he couldn't get outside without a leash and now runs free over a half acre all day long.

On the lookout for muskrats.

Sounds like a great book. If you haven't already read “Rescuing Sprite, A Dog Lover's Story” by Mark Levin, please do. Try to read it during the day, you'll want to immediately take your dog for a walk and give him some love.

Regarding my dog Poobear, all he wants is his belly rubbed and chicken treats or whatever I'm eating at the time will do.

The book looks interesting. The author’s name: Bo Hoefinger. Gotta LOL at that.

Currently she’s multitasking to solve gravimetric flux problems and repair tears in the time-space continuum.

As a pastime she reads Dean Koontz novels and does sudoku.

My two golden retrievers:

Charlie (9 months old): "Hey Boss!!! Ya want this sock??! Ya want this shoe??! How about this piece of paper??! BOSS! Ya want this stick??!

OMG!!!! TEH LEASH!!! LET"S GO!!!!!!"

Trevor (11 years old): "I'm just going to lie down here by your feet, if that's all right. I love ya, man."

With all this health care hoopla, right now I wish I was a dog. Nothing to worry about except sleeping, eating, sleeping, going for walks, and sleeping.

They know ... dogs & cats (as well) are very perceptive. I've had dogs, bull terriers, for over 35 years and cats for over 20 years. Bullies are single minded, especially in their early years, but mellow out as they grow older. Our last bullie came from another home at 14 months, he had been treated well but was just too much dog for this young family. For the rest of his life he seemed a tad bit insecure (our earlier bullies had no such issues we had them as pups @ 12 weeks) and seemed to try harder to please us (well, most of the time) so we wouldn't give him up.

Dog Haiku

Dog HaikuDog Haiku

I love my master;
Thus I perfume myself with
This long-rotten squirrel.

I lie belly-up
In the sunshine, happier than
You ever will be

Today I sniffed
Many dog butts - I celebrate
By kissing your face.

I sound the alarm!
Paperboy - come to kill us all -
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!

I sound the alarm!
Mailman Fiend - come to kill us all -
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!

I sound the alarm!
Meter reader - come to kill all -
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!

I sound the alarm!
Garbage man - come to kill all -
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!

I sound the alarm!
Neighbor's cat - come to kill all!
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!

I lift my leg and
Wiz on each bush. Hello, Spot -
Sniff this and weep.

How do I love thee?
The ways are numberless as
My hairs on the rug.

My human is home!
I am so ecstatic I have
Made a puddle.

I hate my choke chain -
Look, world, they strangle me! Ack
Ack Ack Ack Ack Ack!

Sleeping here, my chin
On your foot - no greater bliss - well,
Maybe catching cats.

Look in my eyes and
Deny it. No human could
Love you as much I do.

Dig under fence - why?
Because it's there. Because it's
There. Because it's there.

I am your best friend,
Now, always, and especially
When you are eating.

You may call them fleas,
But they are far more - I call
Them a vocation.

My owners' mood is
Romantic - I lie near their
Feet. I blow a big one.

The smartest dog I had was a retriever and the dumbest dog was a bassset hound. I’ve had quite a few dogs but those two are about as extremely apart in the brains department as you can get.

Absolutely. We have two and they’re wonderful.
