First Molars Provide Insight Into Evolution of Great Apes, Humans
ScienceDaily ^ | Tuesday, December 29, 2009 | Arizona State University, via EurekAlert

The timing of molar emergence and its relation to growth and reproduction in apes is being reported by two scientists at Arizona State University's Institute of Human Origins in the Dec. 28 online early edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). From the smallest South American monkeys to the largest African apes, the timing of molar development and eruption is closely attuned to many fundamental aspects of a primate's biology, according to Gary Schwartz, a researcher at the Institute of Human Origins and an associate professor in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change in ASU's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences... Because of the difficulties in obtaining tooth emergence ages from animals in the wild, Kelley opted for other means; he searched for specimens in museums. At the Zoologische Staatssammlung in Munich he found skulls of a wild-shot orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus pygmaeus) and gorilla (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) that preserved emerging first molars... the two scientists were able to mark the age of the gorilla's first molar emergence at 3.8 years, nearly identical to that of a wild chimpanzee's. The orangutan's age at first molar emergence was surprisingly much later, at 4.6 years, which falls closer to the age of approximately 6 years in modern humans... However, he and Schwartz caution that though the later emergence age in these large Asian apes is closer to that for modern humans, these latest findings should not be taken to indicate some special evolutionary relationship between the two.

Obviously humans evolved from dogs, that's why they have canine teeth, keep dogs as pets rather than apes, and ride Greyhound buses instead of GreyApe buses.
Ain't science great!?

Molars must mean descent from moles then.

You're thinking of millers, plural of moles, that mill around cause they have squinty eyes.

>>All the counsel you have received has only worn you out! Let your astrologers come forward, those stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you from what is coming upon you. Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame. Here are no coals to warm anyone; here is no fire to sit by.<<

If that is your attempt to support a literal Bible as a scientific text, please point to chapter and verse that describes:

* The make up of an atom
* The periodic table of elements
* RNA, DNA and the Genome
* Electricity — its properties and how to use it
* Boolean logic and its application to computing
* Computers
* Weather — sources and prediction
* The age of the Earth
* Planets and stars (astrology)

Isaiah does give a warning against astrology — he warned about those who would decry science even back then.

>>not quite..Christ died for our sins was raised from the dead and whosoever believes in him has eternal life..it’s simple but to suggest that God used evolution as a part of creation is not taking God at his word..sorry<<

Your belief doth not a study make. Please don’t infect those around you with your narrow and incorrect interpretation of the Bible.

Oh, by the way, if you are taking the Bible literally, I assume you have read all of it in its various original languages, right?

Your belief doth not a study make. Please don’t infect those around you with your narrow and incorrect interpretation of the Bible... here let me help you see what God says not me!Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

1 Tim 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.1 John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.~~~~~so you see my friend my narrow minded beliefs are what God said! and since I can’t read hebrew I will stick to the KJV since it has no errors!><>

>>Have you? <<

I am not claiming the Bible is literal. That onus is on the claimant.

If one says the Bible is to be taken literally, then the person MAKING THE CLAIM must therefore have read the Bible in its original languages, else it is just sophistry.

>>ou see my friend my narrow minded beliefs are what God said! and since I can’t read hebrew I will stick to the KJV since it has no errors!<<

Theologically, no (KJV speaks to our hearts).

As far as science goes, there isn’t even agreement among linguistic and Biblical scholars on what a “nom” is, much less the rest of science as expressed in the Bible.

If you say the text of the Bible is 100% correct on scientific matters, you must source it in its original language AND point out where it answers the simple questions I asked.

I can stumble through Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek (with some difficulty), so feel free to post accordingly.

No, you are interpreting a 4th hand repeat interpretation.

But, just for a level-set — you think the earth is 6,000 years old?

Evolution is a theory of desperation for those that refuse to accept the obvious — we were created for a purpose. To believe in evolution requires faith because the origin of life and the production of new information through mutation has not been demonstrated under any conceivable circumstance. Is evolution then a science or a religion? Many have stated it is the latter. Evolution has unquestionably been spawned by atheistic philosophy, and is the key instrument used by secular humanism to explain the existence of humans independent of God.

Michael Ruse, professor of history and philosophy and author of The Darwinian Revolution (1979), Darwinism Defended (1982), and Taking Darwin Seriously (1986), acknowledges that evolution is religious:

‘Evolution is promoted by its practitioners as more than mere science. Evolution is promulgated as an ideology, a secular religion—a full-fledged alternative to Christianity, with meaning and morality. I am an ardent evolutionist and an ex-Christian, but I must admit in this one complaint. . . the literalists [i.e., creationists] are absolutely right. Evolution is a religion. This was true of evolution in the beginning, and it is true of evolution still today.

well if you believe Gods word again here~~~~~~~~Beginning with the archeological landmark event of the fall of Jerusalem (which has now been corrected to 588 B.C., instead of 586-587 B.C.) and counting backwards the prophesied number of years between this event and the division of Solomon’s kingdom (390 yrs. + 40 yrs., according to Ezekiel 4:4-7), brings us to 1018 B.C.

From the end of Solomon’s 40-year reign to the start of the Temple in the 4th year of his reign takes us back another 37 years to 1055 B.C.

From the start of Solomon’s Temple “in the 480th year” (1 Kings 6:1) back to the Exodus from Egypt (hence 479 years previous) brings us to near 1534 B.C.

From the Exodus out of Egypt to Abraham’s entering Canaan from Haran was exactly 430 years to the day (Gen 12:10/ Exodus 12:40/ Gal 3:17), thus around 1964 B.C.

Since Abraham entered Canaan at age 75 (Gen 12:4), he was born approximately 2039 B.C.

From Abraham’s birth to Noah’s grandson (Shem’s son), Arpachshad’s birth, 2 years after the Flood started, was 290 years (Gen 11:11-26), this places the onset of the Flood at around 2331 B.C. [definitely 4,300-4,400 years ago].

The genealogy of Genesis 5:3-32 precludes any gaps due to its tight chronological structure and gives us 1,656 years between Creation and the Flood, thus bringing Creation Week back to near 3987 B.C. or approximately 4000 B.C.

Therefore, the biblical age of the Earth (using Scripture itself as a guide) is 6,000 years !! Mankind did not evolve 4 million years ago on an Earth which is 4.5 billion years old in a universe which was “big-banged” into existence 18-20 billion years in the distant past. Jesus Christ, the Creator Incarnate, said He made mankind male and female in the beginning (Mark 10:6), and that when the heavens and the earth were commanded into being (Gen 1:1), they “stood up together” (Isa 48:13) not billions of years apart !!

So, your answer is the Earth is 6,000 years (or so) old?

btw, I noticed your citations are in English.

I am still waiting for the original languages, since you take the Bible “literally.”

At this point you have posted 2nd or 3rd generation interpretations. For ideas, that is just fine. For facts, you need to be a bit more precise.
