Happy Thursday, Lori.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful Halloween graphics.
I really appreciate them.

I will soon be AWOL again also.
Parent/Teacher conferencee this afternoon.
Tomorrow is the school Fall Carnival.
Of course, I'm helping out.
Why or why did I agree to be treasurer of the PTA?
Hope I remember to take Marissa's picture tomorrow. :)
Her costume is The Cheerless Leader.
I agreed that she could wear makeup. OH MY ... boy am I popular!

Have a lovely day and enjoy your weekend.

Two men were walking home after a Halloween party and decided to take a shortcut through the cemetery just for laughs. Right in the middle of the cemetery they were startled by a tap-tap-tapping noise coming from the misty shadows.

Trembling with fear, they found an old man with a hammer and chisel, chipping away at one of the headstones.

"Holy cow, Mister," one of them said after catching his breath, "You scared us half to death -- we thought you were a ghost! What are you doing working here so late at night?"

"Those fools!" the old man grumbled. "They misspelled my name!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I must leave for awhile.
I need to do some book work prior to my appt with teacher this afternoon.
Have a fun day. I will try to get back later.
Happy Thursday.
Happy Fall.
I noticed this post a while ago! Speaking of dishes, I have my dishes that I actually played with when I was a little girl. I had the plates, cups, and sugar and creamer. My little saucers were missing. My brother was in the antique business for many years in Columbus and he actually found the saucers to my dishes and mailed them to me a couple of years ago. I was thrilled to death.
The little dishes are displayed on a small shelf in my den. Its amazing that there was not even the tiniest chip of break in any of the dishes. (I was such a good little housewife when I was a little girl...teehee!)
They sold their business and retired but his wife still sells on Ebay all the time. She enjoys it a lot.
"Those fools!" the old man grumbled. "They misspelled my name!"
I've already been to the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall and I checked the spelling of my name. Everything's okay there.
Maybe next time you're in town, I'll show you.
Jaycee,
That is just awesome about your little dishes. I have on display the old lunch box I took to school in the 40’s. I also have my real toy iron that plugged in, that sits along side that lunchbox. I cherish both!
Two years ago I found a few pieces of the place settings we had when growing up...Homer Laughlin, Marilyn. I bought enough on Ebay to use for special occasions.
Thanks so much Amy! :)
The fall foliage has peeked here. Though, it's still pretty, yet. It was so colorful and lovely this year.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
Be A Stander
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. —Proverbs 17:17
Western novelist Stephen Bly says that in the days of America’s Old West there were two types of friends (and horses): runners and standers. At the first sign of trouble, the runner would bolt—abandoning you to whatever peril you were facing. But a stander would stick with you no matter the circumstances. Unfortunately, you wouldn’t know which kind of friend you had until trouble came. And then it was too late—unless your friend was a stander.
Rather than being concerned with what kind of friends we have, however, we ought to consider what kind of friends we are. In the final days of Paul’s ministry, as he awaited death, some who had ministered with him turned into runners and abandoned him to face execution alone. In his last letter, he listed some (like Demas) who had run off, then simply stated, “Only Luke is with me” (2 Tim. 4:11). Luke was a stander. While undoubtedly disappointed by those who had deserted him, Paul must have been deeply comforted to know he was not alone.
Proverbs tells us that “a friend loves at all times” (17:17). During times of adversity, we need friends we can rely on. When the people we know face trouble, what kind of friend will we be—a runner or a stander?
Dear Lord, help us to be the kind of friend who doesn’t run when our friends are in need. Give us the courage to stand by them, the wisdom to know what to say, and the ability to serve them. Amen.
A true friend stands with us in times of trial.
I'm a little shy asking you this here but I am in need of prayers and I'm not sure who to contact here on FR.
A couple of weeks ago my mom went to have her annual mamogram and they were suspiciouse about something so she was sent for a boipsye and they found cancerouse tumors. later on thru an MRI they found it was in both breasts so mom had to undergo a double matsectomy. at first they thought they had gotten it all and it wouldn't be necessary for chemo or radiation treartments but further tests revealed they did not tget it all so now her doctors are trying to figure out how next to proceed. But mom is experiancing physi8cal discomfort but she is keeping up a good attitude during all this, even getting to go with a group from a local church on a 10 day tour of Isreal before her surgery.
I really would appreciate everyone's prayers. I love my mom, she has been a rock in our family.
Pippin,
Please know you have come to the right place to ask for support and prayer!!
I know exactly what you are feeling. I have a sister who went through a double mastectomy, and another sister who just recently had a lumpectomy. Her daughter, my niece has just finished Chemo for cancer of the liver and bone.
I am praying for your mother, the doctor and you. Cancer has affected so many and it seems it is on the rise.
Please stick around and keep us all informed.
I am adding your mom to my prayer list today.
By the way, what a awesome trip to be able to go to Israel. That is one trip I would give anything to take.
Under His Wings,
Polly
