Everybody expects Jay Leno's new primetime comedy show to drop significantly this week following its highly rated premiere.
The question is how fast, how far.
For its second episode, "The Jay Leno Show" drew a metered-market household rating of 8.0 and 13 share -- down 34% from his Monday debut.
The episode featured an interview with Michael Moore

I don’t bother wasting my time.
Good points. In the ads for Moore’s latest progadanda film he uses the AIG bailout to mock Captitalism.
The thing is, the AIG bailout was an affront to Captitalism, it was Socialist. If Moore hates taxpayer bailouts of corporations, (as I do) he should embrace true Captilalism.
His habit of bringing on absolute dopes and presenting this as humor is demeaning to me and other thoughtful Americans. Will not be watching regardless of what time slot he’s in. And bringing Kanye West and Michael Moore on was a big mistake.
1) The set sucks. It is too large. It would be fine if it were “The Carol Burnett Show” and needed room for all the Osmonds or Jacksons to dance. But Kevin is about a full football field away from Jay. They can’t see each other!
2) The guests suck. When a**hole leftists like Kanye West or Michael Moore come on, 40% (including me) just turn off the TV. When Tom Cruise is on via video feed, foget it.
3) The audio sucks. It sounds like Jay’s in a cavern.
4) The writing sucks. He must’ve lost the Jews.
Who’s picking Jay’s guests? Van Jones? First Kanye West, then Michael Moore. Next week, Hugo Chavez will be on the show.
I never watch anything but his monologue. Had a segment with Tom Cruz And That dippy actress whose name I can’t remember which was silly and boring. When he got to fat a$$ I switched channels. His show is really bad and he goes further to the left every day!!!!
I shut it off right at the start and listened to “Coast to Coast”.
At least tin foil is interesting.
Johnny Carson set the bar and sadly no one else is likely to come near it. Really. He was a damm hard act to follow. Add the desire of Hollywood studios to please everybody and their leftwing bias and what you get is a boring insipid mess. Low grade “safe” comedy that appeals to tree huggers and metrosexuals. Call it comedy by Muzak.
.i.e. selling mortgage insurance without cash to insure anything is really a moral issue......it is not an issue of regulation. (either stiffle economic growth, or impossible keep up with changing world). We have removed all moral basis for anything in this country—especially in public schools, we have no conscience, we murder 1.3 million children a year with barely blinking, capitalism won't work without a moral foundation of respect for private property and honesty.
Chris Dodd and Barney Frank are a reflection of the loss of any moral foundation.
The Republican party has missed a huge opportunity here....
Who picked the POS Moore as a guest - your fired! We only like Leno’s car shows other than that never watched the late night shows.
It was pretty much same old same old. I thought the car wash thing was kind of funny and I liked the headlines as always but... I was expecting something new/different. All they did was try to bring back the tonight show at an earlier time. I only watched the first one.
It seemed like Moore took up most of the hour (and the stage). I had it on but wasn’t really paying attention. I find it ludicrous for a multimillionaire to be talking about the evils of capitalism.
Normally, I only record Leno on Monday and then zap the dvr until I get to headlines. That is the only thing he does that I like.
