Everybody expects Jay Leno's new primetime comedy show to drop significantly this week following its highly rated premiere.
The question is how fast, how far.
For its second episode, "The Jay Leno Show" drew a metered-market household rating of 8.0 and 13 share -- down 34% from his Monday debut.
The episode featured an interview with Michael Moore

Because it was overhyped and he apparently doesn’t know who is audience is.
I wonder how many people turned the 1st night off after the 30 mins?
Well that makes sense, a 34 percent drop in audience share because that fat tub of sh*t Michael Moore takes up 66 percent of the viewable area of any TV screen.
A lot of people just tuned in to see who he was and said, “Oh.”
Those people are gone now.
My wife was watching Leno last night. She said that she was glad he was on earlier now so she could watch. After a few minutes, she changed the channel because it was boring. LOL!!!
Nothing but a leftwing talkshow. whats to watch?
It was REALLY boring. The “uninvited guest” segment was so flat and unfunny I zapped it after 3 minutes. Horrible.
My husband used to watch Jays stand up routine at night before bed. Sometimes, he'd push it a little and watch the whole show. I'd easily call him a fan.
He watched the first episode of Jays new show, and got so bored he turned it off. That's new. When he saw Moore on another show, he complained a little about Jays choice of characters, and turned it off again.
Jay seems to have lost at least one loyal fan.
Jay who?
It’s boring show, best watched half asleep.
I think Leno is a bore. He was kind of funny in the early 80s when he started, but doing a talk show makes you a hack. Who was thinking that a good way to fill up prime time was to put a talk show there? Don’t they realize we get plenty of talk? And a left-wing talk show to boot. Start with Kanye West talking about stepping on kittens, and then segue into Michael Moore talking about eating Washington. Loveley. Who’s next, nobel laureate Al Bore?
We tried it for the first few minutes - then Leno announced he was having Michael Morre with his “great new movie” out - and we changed the channel. We will not watch his show again. We are purposefully slamming every anti-American Hollywood or other boob that seeks to destroy the Republic. Hit ‘em hard and relentlessly, America. Shut off their money supply. Don’t support anyone until Obama is removed from office!
Kanye? Michael Moore? Who’s next? Chavez”
How has be beat Letterman all these years? I Don’t watch those shows, but when I have, I’ve watched Letterman. Yes. He’s an a-hole, but that’s part of the fun of watching him. It at least had a bit of zing. I’m guessing a lot of Lenos ratings were from people who fall asleep during the news so the TV stayed on when he came on. That’s the only thing that can explain it.
he had a show not to long ago for years.
He left it.
Now he is back. I said his new show would not make it. Isn’t anyone tired of so called celebrities sitting on a chair talking about themselves or those who have no talent at all sitting there? I say that like I watch the show. I do not. We haven’t for years and years but...we know it is the same thing over and over. Even after Brit Hume and now Bret Bair would do their closing “joke” it always seemed to be something from Leno or someone like that. We would turn the TV off at that point. These people are all so tiring and boring.
Loved the car wash segment, somewhat raunchy for my taste but still good. Seinfeld was a crashing bore. Loved the headlines and especially when Jay said “we’ll find out how powerful we are” when he showed a GE interest statement showing 129% or so interest rate. Never watch the music because it usually assaults my senses (old person). All in all not bad. I laughed mostly and enjoyed it.
Obviously I was watching the first segment, recorded. Michael Moore would be eonugh for me to boycott a program forever. No wonder the ratings were down. Only a freak would listen to Moore.
Nobody that I know of wants to listen to Moore tell us that voluntary exchange of goods and services (capitalism) is evil.
Capitalism requires/is built on a moral foundation
You shouldn't steal (private property)
You shouldn't covet (private property)
You should not lie (honest transactions)
Capitalism is not evil, Mr. Moore. It is a moral problem of a nation reflected in a President who lies.
I’m shocked. You’d think an obnoxious, morbidly obese, Marxist would pull huge ratings. /sarc
