Headed for a “year without a summer?” 10 Jun 09 – AccuWeather's Joe Bastardi expects areas from the northern Plains into the Northeast to have a "year without a summer." “The last time this happened was the Tamboro eruption in 1815 followed by a year without a summer in 1816,” says reader Charles Patrick. Most of the radio active waste would report in the ash not in the atmosphere. Any radon in the coal would report in the gaseous emissions.

A franklin stove is easy to add...if you don’t mind an ugly steel stove pipe sticking out of your roof.

When people are huddled around their stove putting in the last pieces of their furniture, the appearance of the roof will not be an issue.

These people are obviously not trained modern scientists - they are making a clear prediction that can be used to disprove their theory.

Ice Age May Be Starting now

We are already in an ice age. It's just that we happen to be in the 5th (I believe) interglacial period of the current ice age. An ice age is composed of glaciations of about 100,000 years in length interleaved with interglacials of about 10,000 years in length. The current interglacial is about 12,000 years in length. So we're either poised to enter another glacial period of the current ice age or the long period of warmth that exists between two ice ages. I think it's the former.

I sure wish Texas could have a year without a summer.

We’ll be hitting 100+ over the next three days. Any way we can set up a heat pipeline to the north?

Well, I guess this calls for a Global Cooling guru - an Al Gore of the icicles.

Let’s call him Erog La.

I’m sorry but summer starts 21 June. You may not have had a spring - but you can’t say you haven’t had a summer if it hasn’t started yet.

Sorry - A particular nit of mine

Thanks for the clarification and the link. I am sure that most of the regulations governing coal and nuclear are in the public’s best interest however some have been used by bureaucrats to protect pet projects or prevent beneficial disruptive technology from threatening the status quo.
Necessity is the mother of invention and change is a constant. I am sure we, as a nation will use everything in our bag or tricks when the rubber meets the road.
