As y'all know there is a Freepathon going on
and I thought it might be a fun idea to raise some contributions in Chet's name.
Kinda like making lemonade out of lemons.
As you might be aware, our buddy Chet like to post pitbull stories.
I'm suggesting to those who want to join in
that over the next week we set aside a certain amount of money each day to be donated to FR.
There can be 2 donation levels, one of $5/day and one of $10/day.
From those base levels we will subtract $1/day for each pitbull article that Chet post.
The folks at the $5/day level, if Chet remains consistent are likely to pay nothing.
For example Chet has posted SIX pitbull articles today,
Folks at the $5/day pledge level would donate nothing for today.
Folks at the $10/day pledge level would be on the hook today for $4
(course the day isn't over yet and Chet might post 4 more articles before midnight)
We'll start tomorrow and tally up the totals next Saturday,
post our results on the Freepathon thread and make our Chet Challenge donations.
It could also be the time when we make any additional donations in the name of all us dog lovers here on FR

We have one, she is the sweetest most well behaved dog I have ever owned. Suzie weighs in at about 45 pounds, is black with white on her throat. She is extremely intelligent, kinda resembles a black lab in a way.
That’s a great quiz. I seriously doubt very many people could identify the pits in those photos—ESPECIALLY Chet99 and his pals. I bet they’d call them ALL pits.

Ok, I’m sure she’s a wonderful dog, but do you have AKC papers that specifically say “Staffordshire Bull Terrier” and not “American Staffordshire Terrier”? SBT females only weigh from 24 to 34 pounds and are only 14 to 16 inches high at the shoulders. The 28 pound dog I saw was 14 to 15 inches high. She was a small dog especially when compared to what people normally think of as a pit bull.
Amstaff females weigh proportionately more and are 17 to 19 inches high at the shoulder.
You are correct, she is a American Staffordshire Terrier not a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. You know your dogs.
This is so DUish. For you to single Chet out like this is BS. He has every right to post his articles even if I don’t agree with condemning the entire breed. And I have told you so in your private mails to me regarding his opinion and those who want to be offended by his opposition to pit bulls.

This is the Liberal way of handling someone who you don’t agree with. You have chosen to single out another FReeper because he posts 8 stories a day. And you don’t agree with him.

I would have to respectfully disagree. Some one had to point a finger at him to single him out. I have seen some of his responses on other threads. They all always thought out and usually right on for the subject discussed..It just seems silly for other freepers to gang up on someone. It seems to me it was meant to ridicule or to try and stop his posting...that is not a good thing for freepers to do.
Anyway I still think your dog is sweet.
Spamming the forum with a deluge of articles of attacks
is propaganda and fear mongering.
Anyone doing that is going to single themselves out
because it's aberrant behavior, out of the norm.
It's an indication of inner anger and a quasi-religious fervor
that can't be dealt with directly in a rational manner.
Look I don't drink.
I can could quite easily assume the role of a rabid anti-alcohol zealot.
I'd call it the Drink of Peace (DOP)
I could post 5,6,7 or 8 posts a day on the horrible deaths that involved alcohol.
I could post gruesome photos of victims of alcohol.
I'd call those that oppose the ban on alcohol lowlifes, criminals,
fiends that don't mind seeing young children maimed or killed
as long as they can have their drink.
I could tell them how there are many other drinks
just a tasty as alcohol but that are safer.
I'd tell them no one needs alcohol.
I'd tell them people can't be trusted to consume alcohol responsibly.
Oh, there may be some that can drink responsibly
but they're going to have to put up with the ban for the greater good.
And I would do this multiple times a day, day after day, week after week.
I'd find a little cadre of fellow zealots, we would support each other
and let any alcohol lovers (DOPers) that came on the thread know how despicable they are in no uncertain terms.
Now how long do you think on a conservative board

Woman Attacked By 5 Pit Bulls; 1 Still Loose
Owner Says Incident Had Nothing To Do With Dogs’ Breed

Gabriella Munoz, 32, was taken to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn after being mauled by pit bulls on the Southwest Side.
The owner of five pit bulls who mauled a woman Thursday on the Southwest Side says he’s to blame for the dogs getting out of his house.
CBS 2 Chief Correspondent Jay Levine reports, they were cute when they were small, but Thursday night, a litter of pit bulls, now 2 years old, are alleged to have badly mauled a 32-year-old woman passing the home where they were raised, on her way to pick up her children from school.
“I think one of the dogs went up on her, put his paws on her chest, and she fell backwards,” said the dogs’ owner, Cristian Hidalgo. “Once she fell down and she continued yelling and kicking and covering herself, the dogs became more agitated and then a few of them actually started biting her.”
Others who were there describe a brutal attack on Gabriella Munoz, a devoted mother of four, whose only concern as she waited for help was the well-being of her children.
“The dogs bite all over her body even in the head, all over the body,” said witness Francisco Rodriguez.
Rodriguez got there as Hidalgo was struggling to get the dogs back in the yard.
“And I opened the back door to the van and she jumped inside the van is the way we helped,” Rodriguez said.
Hidalgo, whose MySpace page is dedicated to supporting the breed, says what happened is not the dogs’ fault, but his.
“I actually think this could have happened with any breed of dog considering the circumstances and the noise and the people yelling and the lady yelling, but I think most of the blame should be put on me because I guess I didn’t shut the door properly to make sure it was closed,” he said.
Hidalgo says some of the dogs were actually biting each other, trying to protect Munoz. He has been charged with failure to maintain dangerous animals.
Four of the dogs who attacked Munoz have been taken away by animal control and will be euthanized. A fifth, which ran away, is still being sought.
Munoz is being treated at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn.
