Your dog takes the sweetest pictures..he looks like a nice dog...Pit breeds are beautiful. I only get p.o. when none of owners admit to the possibility of the breed being dangerous..I am sure there are many loving breeds that are considered pits. But there are some that are a loaded gun and no one knows when they may go off...I have been to some breed web sites. and I agree that the breed is absolutely beautiful.(one of the sites of a breeder in Alaska) I don't remember the web site name....Yours are just so cute it bring a smile to me...My latest rescue may have some pit in her according to my vet...they go by configuration and shape. She has the shaped skull and set of ears that make her a possibility. She is sweet and met my whole family at Christmas...25+ people for dinner and they all loved her..But she is a senior dog and if she every got uppity, I think I could handle her. But she has arthritis and hip problems and recently had to spend the night at the vets as she had an inner ear problem and couldn't walk with out falling or bumping into the walls..She came home on anti-biotic and steroids. Had IVs at the vet...she is doing fine now but being a senior, she will be expensive. This last trip cost 245.00 but she is worth it..I want her to live out the few years she has left in comfort...My lab just ignores her but since I have been taking them both for a walk together, they are getting more comfortable with each other...I don't dislike Pit Bulls but have a great respect for the damage they can do...

“I only get p.o. when none of owners admit to the possibility of the breed being dangerous.”

Yes. Don’t think you’ll find many of those types around here.
I try to educate that all dogs are potentially dangerous.
As a rule the larger the dog is,
and this includes ‘pitbulls’,
the greater is the potential danger.
Although at the extreme ends of victims,
the very young and the very old,
even small dogs can cause terrible damage.
I don’t subscribe to the idea that “my dog would never do that”.
Even a ‘good’ dog can get into trouble
if the owner slips up on his/her responsibility.

Bless you for taking in the rescue
and giving the old girl care and a good home
during the time she has left.
