To the moon, troll, to the moon!

During the cold war, JFK claimed to have gone to the moon. He got congress to spend billions on his moon landing and pretended america landed there, convincing congress to give him billions, the fakeness of the landing is well documented.

It seems to me that this liberal moneybags, that he took these billions for personal use, or maybe gave them to the USSR (we all know he was soft on communism)

Perhaps his death was similarly staged in order to keep his billions or keep congress of his case.

I wonder if under an obama administration we will see more moon landings.

Mount San Jacinto is about 45 minuets from my house. If drive around the mountain to the Palm Springs side I can take a tram near the top. If is 55o in Palm Springs so it will be around 25o at the top.

While these are from last winter, it look just like this now out there, but we're finally above zero today. (Wisc.)

First I thought this thread was a Christmas present...then I saw the date, and I realized that someone just wanted to get out one of the old toys to play with.

If you are referring to the interior shots, it is on the wall opposite the eagle pic next to the TV.

Snow is a good insulator.

I'm sure gorush is snug and secure in his dwelling.

As long as he doesn't have to go anywhere ...

Here is one from the mechanical room where the heat pump lives. Hot water is pumped through the tubes which are encased in a 4" concrete/tiled slab. The heat-loss calcs showed we needed only a 3.5 ton heat pump and a 5 ton closed loop system. This heats the home and shop building, We still needed to heat the garage as well to get the pump operating in it's efficient zone.

That’s the problem - one does have to go outside, and often drive. Now, if gorush has a giant freezer and a vegetable cellar, and works from home, that would be absolutely perfect!

I just went outside. To fetch a thermometer (for the glühwein), my Christmas present, the shovel and chains from the car that didn't make it out last night.

A car left our neighbor's today and almost ran into trouble. From the tracks he'd backed down the drive into the street, and then started sliding sideways down the hill before getting the car in gear and driving down -- under control.

That's kind of what happened the last time we went outside.

The snow was deeper than I've ever seen it (with one possible exception 22 years ago) here in the PNW.

"That’s the problem - one does have to go outside, and often drive."

That's one of the reasons in my fictional works I had underground shuttle connections between significant structures.

Besides the plot elements, they were just cool.

I think, even now, that some towns and cities could benefit from an urban makeover that stressed underground operations and transportation links. Recall that our supposed transportation system in the Flying Castle, the spherical elevator cars, are essentially a subway system.

My fictional ones were similar. One would call up a car, dial in a destination, and then relax as the car flitted its way through the distribution channels.

On Fairhome, there were three main routes, woven together like a rope. Sometimes you had to go past your destination and then double back.

But that gave the ability to take any particular line out of service for maintenance purposes. It also made it easy to add new stations without disruption.

You can do a lot when you have advanced robots and fusion power sources.
