To the moon, troll, to the moon!

[history]
During the cold war, JFK claimed to have gone to the moon. He got congress to spend billions on his moon landing and pretended america landed there, convincing congress to give him billions, the fakeness of the landing is well documented.
It seems to me that this liberal moneybags, that he took these billions for personal use, or maybe gave them to the USSR (we all know he was soft on communism)
Perhaps his death was similarly staged in order to keep his billions or keep congress of his case.
I wonder if under an obama administration we will see more moon landings.

In my family, we skip having children and go straight to having grandchildren.
They’re said to be more fun.

50’s here, and it’s been foggy all day. We’re winding down after our unusually long choir practice. Could have used another hour (or cut out an hour of insane drumming and guitar mariachismo), but our youth members have school tomorrow. We kept having the piano, the guitar, and the choir in all different keys!

"And does that work out well for you?" The real subtlety comes in when my daughter tries to find a baby-sitter.

36F and nothing here. Been watching the storms on the weather radar go around us all day. Snow is still in the forecast and falling elsewhere.

That’s so subtle I’m going to have to go to sleep and hope comprehension arrives in a dream. ‘Night, all!
I think ‘Face is due home tomorrow. Wolferman’s said they’ve shipped her muffins!

G'night!
Our priest canceled our Wednesday evening Advent Series and hopes to hold it tomorrow, but looking at the traffic cameras around the area I doubt it will happen. Lot of snow out there...

"... looking at the traffic cameras around the area I doubt it will happen. Lot of snow out there..." It was just a little over a hundred years ago. Folks would get so excited when the first good snowfall arrived.
Then they could take the wheels off the buggy and really fly!
Those old prints showing folks getting together at a big house, light pouring out the windows, and sleds, sleighs, and wagons with runners hitched up ...
That was the way it was. Travel was actually easier on snow. Bridge-tenders for covered bridges used to bring snow inside to keep the runners of the sleds from dragging on the roadway. They put snow on the road instead of taking it off!
No, it wasn't perfect, and it wasn't better than now. But we knew how to cope, and we knew what was important in life.
We tend to forget those things.

Didn't know about the bridge-tenders, but you're quite right, NnBob!
I really like seeing the snow (it relieves our black winters) though I don't much enjoy driving in it. But... I cope and if I don't make it up that rise before the rise leading to the exit from the community here... I've got a nice slide back down. *\;-)

I compress that adventure into dealing with my own driveway.
I can always get out, but I may not make it back in.

Rain earlier this week. Clear and cold yesterday and today. Dropped below freezing last night, and looks like it’s headed that way, again. Good thing the orange tree is close to the house or I’d be going out to pick slushies in the morning.

Similar here, except that if I make to my driveway I'm there.
The difficulty is in reaching it, and without 4WD and/or chains, in snow I'm just not going to get there.

"Rain earlier this week. Clear and cold yesterday and today. Dropped below freezing last night, and looks like its headed that way, again. Howell?
