To the moon, troll, to the moon!

During the cold war, JFK claimed to have gone to the moon. He got congress to spend billions on his moon landing and pretended america landed there, convincing congress to give him billions, the fakeness of the landing is well documented.

It seems to me that this liberal moneybags, that he took these billions for personal use, or maybe gave them to the USSR (we all know he was soft on communism)

Perhaps his death was similarly staged in order to keep his billions or keep congress of his case.

I wonder if under an obama administration we will see more moon landings.

(were there "frost-free" fridges in the 70s?).

I don't think so. I had to defrost mine in the 80s.

"I had to defrost mine in the 80s."

It may be time to do it again.

I thought I’d wait until spring.

Logically, it should be a good source of distilled water for your car battery, or your steam iron.

Good point.

Time to put my slytherin friend back in her cage and get on with the day. Happy Tuesday!

We piled leaves over our septic system and well-head. It supposedly helps. My in-laws have done this for decades and never had a freezing issue with their septic/well system.

Was able to take a shower this AM with no issues. So the early evidence is that is works.

-17oF at 5:15 AM CST. We're on a warming trend now, up to -11o right now...

I like fog. It adds an ethereal quality to being outdoors. Makes driving a bit tricky, but geography can do interesting things with the fog layer. Hit a dip in the road, or come down a hill before going back up again, and it can feel like you are driving in a "tunnel".

In South Carolina, driving at night in the fog amongst all those old oaks with the Spanish moss hanging down... Gorgeous. Spooky... but gorgeous.

Yes, I used to love to drive at night in the swamps in Virginia, especially in the RX-7 :-).

Could have used them in my first apartment in college.

Dragons? Or cockroaches?

It can be assumed that any “first apartment in college” has cockroaches. My first apartment had roaches so big I think they’d been in there since the place was built in the 1920s.

Our first apartment probably should have had cockroaches. Being MN, it was too cold.

When I was in the military, we used to put saddles on the roaches and ride 'em to work...

I’ve been in fog so thick the only way I could navigate was to open the passenger door so I could see the fog line on the pavement. This was not fun.

If it would vaporize the fog it would have helped — this stuff was so thick I could truly could not see the road ahead. (California “Thule fog”.)
