I'm sick to my stomach. Although I knew she was going to have to do this..she does take a point of view and she does stick to it, I'm still just sick to my stomach. And for those here who dismiss this woman, you couldn't be more wrong..her books sell like wildfire, her shows sell out and alot of women take what she says as the gospel.
She did say she would still vote for McCain, but she said she wished there was a third party to vote for.
And for those of you who want to attack me for reporting this here, please, please direct your anger elsewhere. I'm not the problem.
I'll post the blog when she uploads it. It's not there yet, but she said on her show she' put it up.
um. what are you talking about? i think perhaps you should read my posts before you start down that path.
That’s funny. You sound like a very hostile person to me. Thank you in advance for your offer not to talk to me in the future. I promise I won’t miss you either.
what gets me is her myopic view.
NOBODY is disputing the wrong here.
It is what do you do in the face of the wrong.
I don’t care HOW perfect mom and dad are, kids make errors. (hence why we call them children)
Dr. Laura is also the dufus who thinks biological fathers don’t matter as long as “some guy” is doing the father’s job.
I think she calls him “first Dude” because he was her “first Dude”
I have to agree with you on that point regarding Dr. Laura. I've heard her espouse views like that on more than one occasion. I find it troublesome (to say the least) because children do best with *both* biological parents in the home and married to one another.
Maybe so but that isn’t why the press calls him that. Of course the press also calls him the First Dud. Whether that has any merit or not remains to be seen IMO.
The problem is that you’re in the reality-based community not the fantasy-utopia community that makes up the MSM.
If you don’t think there is such a thing as a right-wing extremist who loves big government every bit as much as the left-wing extremists do, you have a lot to learn.
C.S. Lewis:
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under live robber barons than under omnipotent moral busibodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good, will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
Also, Todd Palin was technically not Sarah’s first or maybe I should say her only Dude. The press or a blog mentioned a former boyfriend of hers by the name of Scott Richter. There could, I suppose, be another scandal brewing relative to him and his ex-wife, Debbie as well. It all depends how far back the liberals want to dig.
Dr. Laura has expressed positions that have no problem with paternity fraud. I find that troubling.
She is too much of a michael savage type of radio host. Not for any sizable dose and great barriers of time in between.
No. Most 17 year olds who get pregnant get married. They just have the baby and raise it alone.
When the story broke it was already decided by Bristol Palin that she would continue the pregnancy, marry the father and raise the baby. So, the issue of adoption is off of the table for Schlessinger to comment upon. She can give her two cents, but the issue is settled. I doubt the Palin family needs Dr. Laura’s commentary upon their daughter’s life choices.
Dr. Laura was a working mom for all the years her son was younger. She spent hours as a shrink, talk show host, writing her books, book tour circuit, etc. There is no way she could have done all of that only during his naps or school hours. The father had a large part of the responsibility.
Would this be the pot calling the kettle black?
Great post.
Um....the young woman loved her job as a teacher of about 25-30 students.....but didn’t want to become a mother herself, and I don’t think her husband was wanting fatherhood either......might be news to you....but some people have family histories that call into question whether they SHOULD be parents.....i.e. bi-polar, suicide, etc in the family tree....who are YOU to say they MUST procreate, as long as they support others who do? I think they are being “moral” by knowing their own limitations.
And, furthermore....many childless couples are GREAT Aunts and Uncles to nephews and nieces. They have the time AND the money that sometimes the parents don’t.
With Dr. Laura’s own personal history of misbehavior, I will dismiss her critical opinion on Sarah Palin as cattiness to the utmost degree.
“She did say she would still vote for McCain, but she said she wished there was a third party to vote for.”
Doesn’t she know? There is Alan Keyes or Chuck Baldwin.
Thank you.
I don’t think she’s saying that from her posts. She’s supporting the kid and not supporting what is being done to her in the media. That’s what I get from her posts.
I was thinking about this since last night when I heard that Palin’s 17 yr old was pregnant. As a mom of 4 girls, I was interested on a parent level (nothing political).
JMO, a 17 yr old girl is pregnant. Lots of 17 yr olds are pregnant today and not being discussed in the MSM, etc. Lots of 17 yr olds have been pregnant before marriage since forever. I could name quite a few in my own family who married as teens or young adults while pregnant. It’s certainly not the best case scenario but a baby is never a bad thing, imo.
My 12 yr old’s comment, after hearing the announcement was, “she’s not murdering her baby.” This led to an interesting discussion about premarital sex and pregnancy and the bottom line is we are a family and we’ll take care of our own. Don’t have premarital sex but if you do and get pregnant, we’ll deal with it and the new baby.
As parents, we always try our best but eventually kids will make their own choices. I remember my teen and college years well.
I always joke with my kids not to blame me when they’re adults.
Most parents try to raise their kids right, but eventually we have to let them go to make their own choices.
