Again “raising them right” doesn’t always ensure kids won’t make a bad choice.
My parents raised me right, but once I was out on my own there were some things I had to learn on my own, some things I had to learn the hard way and so on.
Parents can truly do everything perfectly and still a kid, is in the end, an individual with his or her own free will.

Anyone who has ever listened to Dr. Laura already knew this was her opinion. She really feels it is the womans job to stay home with the kids. Nothing wrong with that. Doesn’t mean I am going to agree with her.

I’m talking about in general—an unmarried teen she would suggest to give the baby for adoption.

Dr. Laura, like Dr. Phil and others of their ilk have spent their careers making money off of helpless people who can't think for themselves. I briefly listened to Dr. Laura's radio show several years ago. At first I found it entertaining, but then came to the conclusion that there are a hell of a lot of dumb people out there. I couldn't believe some of the problems people were calling into her about. Are people so helpless that they can't make a decision on their own, and need to have a complete stranger tell them what the obvious answer to their problem is?
I can't really comment directly on what Dr. Laura said about Sarah Palin, since I didn't hear her first hand. Whatever she did choose to say, I personally would take it with a grain of salt. Dr. Laura has had her own brush with questionable behavior in the past. The nude photos she posed for at the age of 28 were later published by the ex-lover who took them. At first she denied they were real, but later went to court over copyright issues. In my eyes, Dr. Laura hasn't got the moral authority to demonize Sarah Palin on anything.

And Dr. Laura wasn't youthful. She was 28 when she posed for the photos, and divorced or on her way to being divorced from her first husband. I agree with you. Dr. Laura has nothing to talk about.

Mr. Mom apparently didnt have enough time nor did Mom.Are you really suggesting that the parents of a 17-year-old are supposed to stand guard over them 24 hours a day? Are you suggesting that they are bad parents because of something their nearly-grown child did?

I'm answering you because you're the first sane response. The kneejerk response is incredible. It doesn't matter if she does or does not have moral authority to do anything. There are women who hang on her every word.
I guess I'm just personally mad. So happy just a few short days ago and now all of this craziness. I can't even watch the Republican Convention in peace without some horrible liberal gloating about this woman. It's just sad.

I agree with you. It’s like I tell people, I once shoplifted a shirt when I was a teenager. Does that mean I can never in my life say that stealing is wrong? It’s insane.

FR policy dictates that if you mention someone in your post, you should ping them. That aside, I don’t have any vendetta...I LOVE PALIN...I made a huge donation when I heard the news and actually signed up to volunteer for McCain. I’ve been a huge cheerleader. But does that mean we can’t ever discuss anything negative? Are we just supposed to ignore what others are saying and what we are up against, both in our party and beyond? We ignore all these voices at our peril. We need to know what people are saying so that we can counter it...I don’t know why the messengers keep being shot down.

The last thing I want is for McCain to get rid of Palin, that's why we need to know what's going on. If that's wrong to you..so be it.

You are so wrong about that. And we should thank Dr. Laura for all her work for families. She is the lone voice out there for conservative values. She just had no choice on this one...She is nothing if not consistent.

Good job Hildy. Glad to see no one took it out on you. That’s one thing the forum is for — to share and discuss information.
I’m not too worried about Dr. Laura though. She’s alienated herself from most people over time, some by a little, and some by a lot.
FRegards ....

We all remember how Dr Laura ignored her mother to death, and now she is an expert on the care of others?
Dr Laura is a mouthy, hypocritical flake. She talks the talk constantly, but never has she walked the walk.
