Dr. Laura just gave a scathing speech about Palin
Radio | September 2, 2008 | Hildy

Posted on 09/02/2008 12:49:47 PM PDT by Hildy

I'm sick to my stomach. Although I knew she was going to have to do this..she does take a point of view and she does stick to it, I'm still just sick to my stomach. And for those here who dismiss this woman, you couldn't be more wrong..her books sell like wildfire, her shows sell out and alot of women take what she says as the gospel.

She did say she would still vote for McCain, but she said she wished there was a third party to vote for.

And for those of you who want to attack me for reporting this here, please, please direct your anger elsewhere. I'm not the problem.

I'll post the blog when she uploads it. It's not there yet, but she said on her show she' put it up.

It would’ve been nice for you to summarize her comments. As it is, your post is pretty content free.

I don’t like Dr. Laura.

That aside - we really can’t control the actions of other people. Bristol is seventeen. For a good chunk, she can make her own decisions I hate to say.

The only thing that would make me look down on Palin is if it was revealed that she was pressuring her daughter to abort.

So, its really a no-brainer if you ARE a conservative.

Who are you to define what I must must say or think in order to be a conservative? That isn't up to you. I intend to openly disagree with a million other conservatives in anything that I honestly believe in. You can dislike my opinions and even tell me so but you cannot tell me who or what I AM.

Certainly, if a child becomes ill and is rushed to the hospital, and you’re on the hotline with both Israel and Iran as nuclear tempers are flaring, where’s your attention going to be? Where should your attention be? Well, once you put your hand on the Bible and make that oath, your attention has to be with the government of the United States of America. --same could be said for Obama who has young children - what an idiot this woman is.

I was in school in the 1950s and it was extremely rare. But it happened. It happens with more frequency today thanks to various liberal social factors. But it was not unusual in other times in the recent past in part so America. In frontier America in the 1700’s and 1800s it was not uncommon. Go back further in western civilization and you will find periods when it was common and others when it was extremely rare.

At any case, I still maintain the the way this is being handled by the Palins is far better than the way Liberals would handle it and the significance of this event in assessing Ms. Palin is inconsequential,

Like the children don’t have a Dad. If one of my children needed to be rushed to the hospital, I think their Dad could handle it a lot better than I would, and I could deal with Israel and Iran.

Dr. Laura lives in a illusionist world of absolutes. Wasn't she a stay at home mom? And how did her son turn out? Yeah, he's batsh!t crazy last I read. And she certainly didn't think about her family when she spread her squishmitten for the world to see.

As Rush said today, Sarah Palin would never put a denial to be VP on her daughter. NEVER. And that's exactly what Dr. Laura is advocating. Bristol will have enough to deal with in the next few years. Adding the 'I'm noit a VP candidate because you're pregnant' reason would be cruel.

Dr. Laura is bashing the Palin’s for leaving their children in childcare facilities since they both work. Isn’t Todd a Mr. Mom now?

I’m also satisfied that I’ve done the right thing (or one of the numerous available “right things”) with my own life.

good for you! and LOL at your comments about your daughter. i have a 14 yo and a 20 yo, both virgins, both as prolife as they come. my 20 year old is actually more judgmental than most freepers on the issue of Bristol Palin, she is very disappointed. i told her today that while i raised them to know premarital sex is wrong, i would not reject them were they to fall prey to temptation.

“. i don’t judge others and what they choose to do, because everyone’s situation is different.”

Of course we judge, we judge by the end result. Many parents offload parenting to day care or the TV. Thats wrong.

As a society that hurts us as it leads to a lot of the problems we have. Poorly educated kids, high teenage pregnancy rates, higher crime rates, an increase in broken families as a whole.

A strong family will solve a lot of problems before they occur. If both parents work it doesn’t make you a bad parent. It does make it much tougher to be a good parent.

I'm not following. Why is it not a healthy and fertile young wife's moral obligation to have children with her husband?

Since some say gays can't marry because there's no procreation going on there, there's no POINT in a heterosexual couple bothering to marry if they're not going to have a family, right?

GOP Leadership: Eff you. You’ll hold your nose and vote for whoever we deign to give you, just like always.

LAST time for me.

The GOP hasn’t gotten a cent out us since McShame was pushed on us. Now he’s hurting. I think it’s fitting that Campaign Finance Reform is biting him in the arse.

"Either extreme is only a threat if they get control of the monopoly on the use of violence to achieve their goals, ie, GOVERNMENT. And the right despises government, while the left treats it as their “god”."

That's what I said. The extreme right LOVES big government just like their counterparts on the extreme left.

You sound like a VERY hostile individual and I don’t think exchanging any opinions with you on any subject in the future would be mutually satisfactory.

Have a great day.

I don’t know a lot about Orman but it’s often easier to “handle” other people’s money than your own. It’s kind of like a doctor being his own worst patient.

Barbara and Jenna Bush could have gotten very sick and had to be rushed to the hospital. By Laura’s logic, GWB should not have been president, because his children’s concerns might have distracted him.

I can’t believe how clueless and sexist this flaky old tart is.
