Dr. Laura just gave a scathing speech about Palin
Radio | September 2, 2008 | Hildy

Posted on 09/02/2008 12:49:47 PM PDT by Hildy

I'm sick to my stomach. Although I knew she was going to have to do this..she does take a point of view and she does stick to it, I'm still just sick to my stomach. And for those here who dismiss this woman, you couldn't be more wrong..her books sell like wildfire, her shows sell out and alot of women take what she says as the gospel.

She did say she would still vote for McCain, but she said she wished there was a third party to vote for.

And for those of you who want to attack me for reporting this here, please, please direct your anger elsewhere. I'm not the problem.

I'll post the blog when she uploads it. It's not there yet, but she said on her show she' put it up.

It’s being minimized as no big deal. If it were the Dems, you’d hear all kinds of insults.

I agree. No wonder the republican party is going down the tubes.

Schlessinger is a sweet tone compared to Tammy Bruce. Bruce makes my throat sore.

To RAISE them means being there. Mr. Mom apparently didn’t have enough time nor did Mom.

Nothing like absolutes. Mind posting the logs showing the amount of time the Palins spend with their kids?

'Being there' is certainly critical, and it makes the important parts MUCH EASIER - but in and of itself, it's not nearly enough. If that were the case, churched families with stay-at-home moms wouldn't have NEARLY the issues they do. (Not to mention that would mean that all currently single-for-whatever-reason working moms would be automatically condemned to raising miscreants, with no hope of countering it.)

I recommend this book...I think you'll find that the reasons Christian kids have troubles go much deeper than simply measuring the amount of time they spend with someone standing over them.

Just trying to keep some tenuous attachment to reality.

The fact that Sarah Palin has a successful political career and is getting lots of acclaim at the moment does not make me feel bad about myself. I’m very pleased that she is our Vice President candidate, and I’m also satisfied that I’ve done the right thing (or one of the numerous available “right things”) with my own life.

I’m sorry her daughter did something she had to have known was both wrong and foolish, but I’m not going to have a cow over it. (Note that I didn’t say I’m sorry she is pregnant.) If my 17-year-old daughter does something she knows is wrong and foolish, whether it’s having sex outside marriage or something else, I hope I won’t have a cow then, either.

I think many of us figured out long ago that Dr. Laura BISHOP is a sadist who particularly hates women, and women who call her are masochists.

How are Lew’s ex-wife and kids that you stole him away from doing these days, hypocrite Laura?

In today's 21st century America, events like this are unfortunately very common. As a matter of fact, in earlier western societies they were more common than you would think.

From my perspective, the IMPORTANT things here are:
1) They are getting married
2) The child will not be murdered.

NEITHER of the above likelihoods would have occurred in a liberal family. They would simply have killed the baby.

Its impossible for two thinking people to have the same opinion on everything and it would certainly be a boring world if we did.

However, I think its important to look at things from perspective. John McCain is certainly NOT my perfect candidate. However, I think Sarah Palin is VERY close to perfection in my eyes. On the other hand, the alternative - a man with NO significant executive experience, a man with a very poorly know past, a man who is clearly a socialist, a man with questionable ties to Islam, a man who patronized a racist church which permitted a “reverend” to attack America, whites and Jews -among others - is far worse. As for Biden, the less I say about him the better.

So, its really a no-brainer if you ARE a conservative.

Considering her personal life’s messes, she isn’t one to talk. It is easy to talk to the trailer trash crowd and get an audience. I am not impressed with popularity. Hell, Paris is popular.

"So, would you care to share with us what you think the "extreme right" is?" I guess I'll just have to repeat myself:

The extreme right and the extreme left are merely flip sides of the same coin. They are people who know what's best for everybody else, and if they don't comply, they will have it crammed down their throats if enough power can be gained.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under live robber barons than under omnipotent moral busibodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good, will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." ~ C.S. Lewis

I was just thinking, I wonder what Dr. Laura would say about another Laura—Laura Ingraham. She adopted a little girl. Laura works and she’s not even married, is she?

The Romans 8:28 purpose behind this, to me, is clear -

it provides a stark contrast to Obama’s
“wouldn’t want her punished with a baby” line.

‘i have seen NO ONE rag on women for staying home with their kids. but i have seen plenty of judgmentalism from those who condemn the childrearing abilities of working parents.”

I said because it seems FR is more and more full of people who think govt interference is a good thing.

Nobody condemns working parents but thats not the gold standard. Long ago family’s could have a better standard of living with only one person working. Today both parents have to work to have cars, a house and a vacation every other year.

Either extreme is only a threat if they get control of the monopoly on the use of violence to achieve their goals, ie, GOVERNMENT.

And the right despises government, while the left treats it as their “god”.
