I didn’t know it was Tater Day until I heard it on here today. Well, I celebrated yesterday and today. I had potato soup yesterday and this morning, I whipped up a small bowl of potato salad, now isn’t that coincidental? You can do a lot with potatoes. And I do not like to let one spoil!

Oh, Mama_Bear, I don’t envy you! I have a really bad tooth, but my dentist is no longer licensed to do conscious sedation. I have to go to Phoenix or Prescott (Both almost two hours drive away).

And, since I have a true phobia of going to the dentist - I’m afraid I am going to become toothless, one of these days. (Just kidding of course.)

I have GOT to find someone who will knock me out and fix my poor toof-ums!

Fewz, that is a GREAT visual! Thank you for sharing it with us!

GeeBee was my teacher when I first signed up here and didn’t know how to post pictures. (Or anything else, for that matter.)

Once I “lernt’ it, I’ve become a nuisance, I’m afraid!

I think it's time to give Kitty Mittens some (ahem) control around the house:

We all know how our men are - LOL!

LOL

Hey ... I understand. A friend of mine from 8th grade (we are almost like sisters) came by last night. She lives about 40 miles away but was on her way to her grand-daughter’s so she stopped by. I never mind when she stops by unexpectedly.

She didn’t stay very long. She had Valentine and Easter candy for Marissa. Just what Marissa needed. Wait until her ggranddaughter is 8!

It is great to know you had a great day!!

Most would find it funny and you didn’t know I such a skeerdy cat! It’s ok. Hugs!

Well, good luck with your dentist search. My husband uses the conscious sedation method to have any dental work done. Our dentist does that and he is very good and gentle. For me it doesn't matter. Novocaine works fine for me. I don't have a problem with going to the dentist, I just hate to go because it is costing a small fortune. We don't have dental insurance and these dental bills are killing me. My dentist is very good at what he does and his prices reflect that. LOL.

My son used to love the little frosted ones. He called them “frosted winnie meats”. LOL. To this day I can’t say “Frosted Mini Wheats” without having to really concentrate on it.

Hi, dita. Nice to see you here today.

Did you have a nice Easter? I was thinking about your Confirmation a week ago Saturday and remembering how joyful you sounded in anticipation. :-)

One of my best friends has already paid her dentist over $10,000 for bridge work. It didn’t fit, and now she has to get MORE work done, and he’s still CHARGING her!! Now it’s another $750 for this past week! She is beside herself! They don’t have any money to spare, and I think he is ripping her off royally! She is beside herself, and I don’t blame her.

I checked into going under general anesthesia, to get it all done while I’m asleep. Turns out, after a complete physical, blood work, x-rays, and paying for the anesthesiologist, a doctor on call, two dentists and two nurses, plus the room and equipment - it would cost over $60,000 - even if I only had ONE cavity!

So, I’m not getting anywhere. I sure can’t afford dental work - even with just novicaine.

When I was a little girl, Mama would warm the milk, place one of the big shredded wheat pieces in my bowl, sprinkle sugar all over the top and then pour the warm milk on it. It was delicious. Wonder if your husband has ever had it that way!

Thanks for the Mr. KM update. Glad to hear he seems to be getting stronger. I think dita's suggestion about trying baby food for him is a good idea. At one point I was giving Chachi strained Gerber's meat.....can't remember why now, but he liked it, and I figured it can't hurt if it is pure enough for babies. I would think you just had a really finicky cat, but if he was on the street before he came to you, one would think that he would be grateful for any kind of food.

I don't envy you trying to get medicine into him. We had to do that with Chachi and it was a huge battle every time.

Hi Amy. Just this morning, my neighbor and I were talking about how much we loved shredded wheat! I like the big hunks so I can use my dainty hands and scrunch it into the bowl! Now I will have to send Tom to get me some! Love to you and all!

Oh, that is awful!

I believe that dentists should be paid well for what they do, but for many of us, it is almost impossible to pay the charges. I need to have a small cavity filled and a crown put on a tooth that has already had a $1,800 root canal. The crown is going to be another $1,100, plus $300 for the filling. And I'm thinking I will have over $3,000 wrapped up in ONE tooth! But, what are you going to do??? I'd really like to keep all my teeth.

$60,000??? I can see why the general anesthesia would be out of the question. Does the conscious sedation work for you? My husband just takes a pill and when I go to get him after his appointment, he doesn't remember a thing. :-)
