I wondered how you chose your nickname, or even your tagline. I enjoy reading the wide variety of names and taglines, as well as some home pages. FReepers are very creative, and smart. I've learned a lot here!

They have pictures up at the Piedra post office showing the Kings River flood. I think Doyal’s Market was inundated. It looked really messy! Hopefully the dam stopped all that.

I thought it would be easy to play, but man that thing was impossible to figure out, plus you had to have a real set of lungs. I hope someone got to use it.

I remember driving the levee from Helm to Caruthers? Riverdale? with the river on the left anfd flood waters on the right and no place to turn around and the tank on the folks 41 Chevy near zero but we did have a bottle of Mogan David wine we traded for at a labor camp with a dead Possum.
We made it back to Helm to find the road closed to San Joaquin so we had go to Five points to Manning home. We did not siphon gas from that pump!!! It was the early 50s...

LMAO ...... just because you took a 3 party , out of state check without ID from me when you delivered the dirt doesn’t make me the bad guy........:o)
Nite ya’ll !
Stay safe !

I have not heard of any floods since that time .... I think it was in the late 40’s or early 50’s.

“MoochPooch” was the name of my dog, the late great Heidi, who liked to beg at the dinner table. She would rest her muzzle in my lap.
“Compassionate Cynic”: because there’s no fool like an old fool. We lose our innocence along the way; we must. But hopefully with education & experience comes an understanding of the world & a certain forgiveness of certain shortcomings. Humor goes a long way (probably why I like reading the FREE REPUBLIC so much).

The tagline is pretty self explanatory.
