AccuScore has run more than 10,000 simulations for every World Series game for Yahoo! Sports, calculating how each team's performance changes in response to game conditions, opponent's abilities, roster moves, weather and more. Each game is simulated one play at a time and the game is replayed a minimum of 10,000 times to generate forecasted winning percentages, player statistics and a variety of game-changing scenarios.

Boston winning 66.8 percent of World Series simulations

AccuScore simulates each playoff game and the entire playoff series 10,000 times. This season, the team that has won over 50 percent of series simulations won their series with one exception: New York won 51 percent of simulations over Cleveland. AccuScore correctly projected Colorado to upset both Philadelphia and Arizona, but in simulations vs. Boston, the Red Sox ride home-field advantage and the dominant pitching of Josh Beckett to win 66.8 percent of series simulations.

The forecast below is based on the designated starters and was run on data available as of October 23. AccuScore's proprietary algorithm weights each game's data, and as each game is played the simulation winning percentages will change. The simulation winning percentages also will change if the projected starters change.

Game 1 Francis vs. Beckett 31.2% 68.8%

I did not see Remy which is odd. The Duck boat that had the announcers / broadcasters stopped in front of where I was standing for awhile and I didn't see Remdog on the boat.

If Schilling was smart he would retire from the game. He’s got 3 WS rings, a playoff resume to kill for and a huge amount of gratitude for the fans. To go somewhere else for one more shot at glory is nothing more than ego.

Heed the warnings of Roger...

Matt is actually one of the nicer people in the game according to many sources. He simply wasn’t cut out to pitch in Boston and the ruined shoulder was a very convenient outcome for the team. I think they should try to have him come back next year since you can never ever have enough pitching. There are a lot worse for 5th starters out there and he can keep the bench warm until Masterson is ready.

Great photos!!!! I'm so jealous!

I'm already looking forward to next season and will snatch up tickets when the Sox come out to Oakland. I hope to get out to Fenway again.

Thanks! Feel free to click and ‘ save picture ‘. I actually was getting pretty frustrated as I processed them through Photoshop - I thought my photos stunk. Why the heck the camera would not focus properly is beyond me. I had hoped for some very sharp photos.

Ah, my new screen saver picture! Thanks GSC.

Now, if we can keep “Mumbles” Menino away from the WS trophy...

He got about $26 mil over three years. The contract was a bit back loaded.

From what I've read Schilling is a huge asset in the clubhouse, giving advice to young pitchers and helping them with many aspects of the game.

I wouldn't compare Clemens with Curt, he loves the game, thinks he can still play baseball and help the team.

To the best of my recollection he hasn't retired three times to load his pockets.

Given that, plus the fact that John Farrell will probably be a hot commodity as a managerial prospect this winter or next, why not groom Schilling as his replacement? That way, Schilling gets to retire with the Sox (possibly a 4th ring?) and have a pretty good job after retirement.

Sounds like a plan, too bad it looks like they have no intention of re-signing him.

He has a gaming company that he started last year. He’s got a job after baseball.

Roger actually helped turn the Yankees around so there was value for them but he went out like a limp johnson....

Hang on nutmeg, with the Patriots going the rate they are going, with that perfect record, we could be in for another Superbowl WITH THE PATS IN IT AND WINNING IT. Prepare for a possible parade then. :-)

It is a great time to be a New England sports fan. :-)

Sorry about the 4 hour delay in my reply. We live in north central CT (near the "notch")... a few miles from Southwick, Mass. It takes us about 2 hours to get to Fenway Park from home.

Sure is! I must admit that I need to take a more active interest in football. I don't follow it like I do baseball. The Patriots and Boston College (and I think even UConn) football teams are doing really well.

Can't stand the NBA, however we root for the University of Connecticut women's and men's basketball teams. I don't follow hockey much since the Whalers left CT years ago...
