I have been dreaming of Joe Torre managing the Dodgers for more than a decade now. Hes the one to shape them up. Oh man, I hope this is more than rumor. Congratulations .... sometimes dreams do come true! See you at the World Series!!
To: Boston Blackie
I immediately thought of that song, “Don’t Let Me Lose This Dream” and I thought, yeah, just hold on and it could happen....:) It worked for you and all the faithful BoSox fans!
The Dodgers are overdue for some postseason play. Did you know that Vin Scully is still calling Dodger games? Same golden voice, and next year will be 50th anniversary of the L.A. Dodgers. Suddenly, I feel incredibly OLD....:(
So, any word on when your team goes to the White House?

10 minutes ago on WEEI it was reported by Dale and Arnold that Schilling has signed with the Sox; 1 year, 8 million with incentives.

Schilling just signed with the Red Sox: one year, 8 million with 2 million in incentives.

9 percent increase in tickets prices announced. No idea what a hot dog now costs. The two seats I once had for Saturday games, section 27, box 153, row HH, seats 5 and 6 were $40.00 each in 2000. Looking over my old tickets you can see the prices rise from $40.00 / $50.00 / $55.00 / $60.00 and finally $70.00 in 2004, the last year I purchased tickets for these seats. They are now $85.00. Amazing. I do not think I could afford such an expense these days.

Their inability to build a new ballpark is going to haunt them for a long time. They should have been able to build a 45-48K stadium that would have provided 8-10K reasonably priced seats. Instead they will top out at 38K and that means they keep raising prices.
I will be curious to see how they will deal with ticket prices as the payoll comes down in the next two years. I estimate that at least $70 million will be subtracted from what they started with in the beginning of 2007.

The ‘ list ‘ was announced on WEEI minutes ago. Jason Variteks name is on the list. Will you be posting a Red Sox faithful thread about this?
To: warsaw44
That’s not “the list.” It’s a rumor.

Glad this has been cleared up. Huge difference between the names mentioned on air ( the fake list ) and the names on the real list. Brother, was I ever shocked about Varitek. Actually, I refused to believe it but wondered if I was just being stubborn out of loyalty.
