We put our tree up in the last few days before Christmas - good sales, if you can find a tree worth using - and leave it up for the 12 days. I usually can't stand chasing the baby out of it for that long, though!

I think we just have Pentecost, then Rogation Sunday (the green altar decorations come out), and then the Sundays are called 1st sunday after Pentecost right up until Advent. However, I've just remembered that we had the white altar cloths out last Sunday. Hrmmmmm......

Really? In Pa., the stands are already up and the first shipment of cut trees are delivered the week of Thanksgiving. It's almost indecent.

There are no vowels in Mcxlplx.

Nor in written Hebrew. And we have a friend who though American of recent Scottish descent speaks English (her only language) in a distinctly Scottish Gaelic way: she has great difficulty joining consonants. "Kathleen" becomes "Kath-a-leen", for example.

But our Gaelic teacher knows also a central European language (I have forgotten which), and he has in the past recited a sentence in that language which has no vowels in it at all.

For my part I take the Gaelic out. "Alice au Wonderuhland" if need be.
