Ugh. Just as I was getting ready to celebrate, I learn my aunt is in the hospital, needing a couple different surgeries but first they have to find and stop the internal bleeding. (No accident, just age...)

I'm so sorry. A friend of mine (in her late 70's) was hospitalized last week, released, then had to go back for more surgery. She was released yesterday, but I don't know if this will interfere with her trip to Vegas.

She usually goes in November and returns in March or April, as her son has a house there. She is one of the reasons I want to go at Christmas. I don't know if I'll see her again.

It's all sucky.

GAH! When I was working, I volunteered to work holidays. I had no family close by, so it was better for me to work. Besides...at double time-and-a-half, it was the only time I was paid what I was really worth. ;o]

That was what I was working, too. But I liked to work so that my co-workers with kids could be home. It worked out for all of us.

Anyway, the Flying Castle weathered the tsunami with, dare I say, hardly a ripple. But I was wrong to say that our instruments did not even record it.

Turns out our harmonic balancing system responded to it, damping out the vibration without any input needed from us. I had almost forgotten about that system, and I’ll need to set up a protocol for it to go into “park” for our orbital ventures. No need to drive it crazy!
