Hi everybody. Happy Hugs Day.

A Mother's Crown
Heaven lit up with His mighty presence, As all the Angels looked down, Today the Lord was placing the jewels, In all the mother's crowns.
As He held up a golden crown, As all the mother's looked on, He said in His gentle voice, "I just want to explain each stone".
He held the first gem in His hand But the radiance couldn't match His own. For He was the light of Heaven, Reflecting off each of the stones.
"The first gem," He said, "is an emerald, And it's for endurance alone, For all the nights you waited up. For your children to come home.
For all the nights by their bedside, You stayed till the fever went down, For nursing every little wound, I add this emerald to your crown."
"A ruby, I'll place by the emerald, For leading your child in the right way, For if you hadn't taught them about me, They wouldn't be here with you today.
For always being right there, Thru all life's important events, I give you a sapphire stone, For the time and love you spent."
"For untying the strings that held them, When they grew up and left home, I give you this one for courage." Then the Lord added an amethyst stone.
"I'll place a stone of garnet," He said, "For all the times you spent on your knees, When you asked Me to take care of your children, And them for having faith in Me."
"I have a pearl for every little sacrifice, That you made without them knowing, For all the times you went without, To keep them happy, healthy, and growing."
"And last of all I have a diamond, The greatest of all gems, For those mother's who lost their children, When they came home to heaven before them."
"This is the most precious sacrifice, So I give the most precious stone, For I know just how you felt, I too lost a child of my own."
After the Lord placed the last jewel in, He said, "Heaven is now complete, For every mother has her crown of jewels, And all her children are at her feet."

Only One Mother
Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky,
Hundreds of shells on the shore together,
Hundreds of birds that go singing by,
Hundreds of lambs in the sunny weather.
Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,
Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn,
But only one mother the wide world over.

Dear Mother, (Oh, Brother!)
Have you ever noticed, the word Mother rhymes with Brother?
How could any two things be more different from each other?
What kind of language do we have that twists a meaning so?
Do other pairs of M and Br have such a to and fro?
How about a small word, Make -- is it changed by being Break?
Why, so it is! Perhaps this really isnt then some kind of sad mistake.
I find its more rewarding, when I go to fetch the Mail,
That none of it is sent to me in time-consuming Braille.
And I suppose it would be better if my fortunes were in Mink,
Than to find one day that I am only teetering on the Brink.
Yes, clearly it is better ones resource should be a Man,
Than to find oneself dependent on a bowl of mushy Bran.
When relatives should come to call, (and this weekend they Might,)
It seems to me its easy how to tell which ones are Bright.
All the daughters greet their mothers and the message is quite Moot,
But when the surly sons come round youll see the lurking Brute.
For masculine attentions rather like a heavy Maul,
Its hard to get it moving unless someone starts a Brawl.
Although Mom is always acting like shes in a merry Mood,
She relaxes more when brother troops off with his Brood.
Youll notice then that we are hosting Mothers Day,
And Brothers dont get honored, (on the calendar anyway!)
Ill toast my brother with a drink something like Mead,
Moms may be one of a kind, but brothers are another Breed.

Happy Mothers Day
My tears, youd dry if I was sad,
You kept me safe and warm.
My clothes youd buy and dress me up,
But then came the alarm.
A little brother came along,
He ruined my happy life.
Jeff was a mess, a hopeless case,
He brought us so much strife.
I washed the dishes, helped you out,
We cleaned the muck and crud.
Jeff wandered round the neighborhood,
On pianos he threw mud.
But we grew up because you cared,
And helped to give us hope.
Now I am grown and I am fine,
But Jeff, hes still a dope.

Mom,
I cried, you came to comfort me,
When hungry, I was fed.
I'd fall asleep; you'd pick me up,
And carry me to bed.
You taught me how to write my name,
I learned to count from you.
I went to school you waved goodbye,
I know that you cried too.
You helped me through my growing years,
Yes you were always there.
Whenever I felt lost or down,
I knew I had your care.
Now I am grown, my kids are too,
And you're still there for me.
Oh yes you know I love you mom,
That anyone can see.

A Mother Is ...
A mother is a messenger, who bears a precious gift,
And even in the wrapping tissue we find some gems to sift.
The more we learn of life, the more we stop and stare,
For how can such a wondrous thing be conjured out of air?
A mother is a vessel, a type of cooking pot,
Whose love provides the warmth so that it doesnt get too hot.
And she provides the nutrients, our flesh is of her soil,
And when the child is born its she who does the toil,
Of cleaning it, and feeding it, and teaching it to smile,
A small reward to mother for her efforts all the while.
A mother is a garden spot, where God instills a spark,
A holy flame to kindle for the worlds encroaching dark.
For every childs a candle, sent to fill the world with light,
And mother is the shielded hand that saves it for the night.
A mother does the work of God in bringing forth a child,
And Godly patience helps her to prevent its running wild.
We recognize her efforts with some flowers and a card,
Oblivious to the challenges she faced, and it was hard,
To make a sterling citizen from the plans placed in her head,
She had to compromise a bit, cause she got us instead.

The Sweetest Mother
Our mother is the sweetest and
Most delicate of all.
She knows more of paradise
Than angels can recall.
She's not only beautiful
But passionately young,
Playful as a kid, yet wise
As one who has lived long.
Her love is like the rush of life,
A bubbling, laughing spring
That runs through all like liquid light
And makes the mountains sing.

Happy Mothers Day Means More
"Happy Mother's Day" means more
Than have a happy day.
Within those words lie lots of things
We never get to say.
It means I love you first of all,
Then thanks for all you do.
It means you mean a lot to me,
And that I honor you.
But most of all, I guess it means
That I am thinking of
Your happiness on this, your day,
With pleasure and with love.
