Yesss ..... she loves cheese and that was one of the highlights when we visited DC.

She loved the snow and having high tea with FReeTheHostages. Of course, she will never forget the airplane ride. LOL

MamaBear will never forget making that trip with a five year old. LOL

As promised, these are the pictures of our Kildeers.

It was not very difficult to take pictures of the eggs but as soon as the eggs started to hatch, it was an adventure to get close enough to take any pictures.

When I ignored her, she started flying toward me; very protective.


There are still two eggs; I don't know if they will take off as soon as those hatch or not.

I'll brave the wrath of the parents and check them again tomorrow.

Baby Killdeer look ridiculously funny running around on two stilt legs.
Had four killdeer families nest in my old front yard one year.
They didn't mind us much as the dog kept predators at bay.

The parents don't want us to go out the front door.

They nested about 10-15 feet from the driveway.

They are such strange birds. It surprised me that they nested so close to our house.

Isn't it amazing how those eggs blend in with the rocks?

I've been anxious for the babies to make an appearance. :)

We do not have a cat but there are a couple that show up once in awhile.

Our dogs are fenced in the back but we have coyotes (I don't think they would come that close to our house) and neighborhood dogs. I hope nothing finds them.
