"That's all she gave me. "

Why would you need more?

It's like the first crack in the eggshell. The rest is up to the hatchling.

The Limerick's inventor:

Limericks by Edward Lear from "A Book of Nonsense"

There was an Old Man with a beard,
Who said, 'It is just as I feared!
Two Owls and a Hen,
Four Larks and a Wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard!'

There was a Young Lady whose eyes,
Were unique as to colour and size;
When she opened them wide,
People all turned aside,
And started away in surprise.

There was a Young Lady of Norway,
Who casually sat on a doorway;
When the door squeezed her flat,
She exclaimed, 'What of that?'
This courageous Young Lady of Norway.

There was a Young Lady whose bonnet,
Came untied when the birds sate upon it;
But she said: 'I don't care!
All the birds in the air
Are welcome to sit on my bonnet!'

There was an Old Man of Quebec,
A beetle ran over his neck;
But he cried, 'With a needle,
I'll slay you, O beadle!'
That angry Old Man of Quebec.

The was a Young Lady of Bute,
Who played on a silver-gilt flute;
She played several jigs,
To her uncle's white pigs,
That amusing Young Lady of Bute.

There was a Young Person of Smyrna,
Whose Grandmother threatened to burn her;
But she seized on the cat,
And said, 'Granny, burn that!
You incongruous Old Woman of Smyrna!'

About 2 tons of furniture and files. I didn't want movers, cause they break things.

Sometimes she gives me more, or a general feeling beyond the single line.
This time it was a single line followed by wicked laughter.
And that's where it sat.
*sigh*

Of course there's some other stuff from before that single line, unrelated to it, that doesn't tie into it at all.
"Lonely crying, tears of rage. His pain would last all night"

Been trying to think of somethign to put the two together.
Perhaps Queen Mab will grant me a courtesy and give me a bit more to work with.
Sometimes I need a little more help to get things going.

Hey, I'm with you, Buddy...

I had the hand trucks ready, but you never called.

All ya gotta do is call ... even if you don't have beer.

Withness

Being with someone is special.
Connectedness is king.
The person that you’re being with,
Can make you want to sing.

Remember when you were a child,
You held your father’s hand?
For feeling safe and wonderful,
Nothing was more grand.

Certain people make us feel,
The world’s a better place,
By standing there beside us,
With something hard to face.

They don’t have to be that brave,
Or ready for the task.
They just have to be there,
For anything we ask.

You, too, can be that someone,
The person standing there,
When someone else needs company,
For something tough to share.

And there’s a loving feeling,
That comes with it, of course,
The touch of someone’s hand in yours,
Will give your strength more force.

So you can face together,
What’s difficult alone.
A burden shared is lightened,
And friendship’s seeds are sown.

With luck, there’s more than friendship,
That you may find this way,
A good companion to be with,
Much longer than a day.

A lifetime being with someone,
No matter that it ends.
Their love will still be with you,
When you are more than friends.

With time, with love, with everything,
Your share of withness brings,
Your life of lonely Winters,
Will always end with Springs.

It seems to work well enough for me. Try it again. -- And please don't say, "What's that sound?"

Lonely crying, tears of rage.
Why had he fled in fright?
She'd burned her need into his soul,
His pain would last all night.

He heard her mental laughter.
His freedom was her prize.
Although she seemed a helpless waif,
Her weapons were her eyes!

You would be perfect for some of the limerick competitions we used to have.

I don't think anyone matches your production on this board, although our poet laureates NB and CG continue to post some very impressive pieces. (Now, it's off to bed.)
