Someone may have walked off with it. Not as hard a task as you'd think. It was supposedly in the grad student area, not the labs, and with enough chutzpah someone could have just taken it. I dunno.
Previously the worst theft we've had was the guy who stole memory out of one of the computers. We found him...

This is a GREAT recipe for bread! G'nad and the neighbors rave about it. mmmmmhotbread

1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1/4 cup butter softened
1 egg well beaten
4 1/2 to 5 cups flour
FILLING:
1/4 cup butter
1 cup onion, finally chopped
2 Tb parmesan cheese
2 Tb poppy seed
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp paprika
soften yeast in water in large mixing bowl.
Add sugar, salt, milk, butter, egg and 2 cups flour.
Blend at low speed until moistened.
Beat 2 min at medium speed.
Stir in enough remaining flour by hand to make a soft dough.
Let rise until double, about 30 min.
Prepare filling by mixing ingredients, blend, and set aside.
Stir down dough and knead on floured surface until longer sticky.
Roll into a large 1/4 inch thick circle.
Cut into 4 wedges.
Spread with filling, spreading lighter toward points and edges.
Roll each wedge tightly beginning at wide end.
Seal up edges.
Brush with a little melted butter and place on a greased baking sheet.\Cover and let rise until double, 30-35 min.
Bake at 350 for 20-30 min.

Sigh... sometimes I really hate Atkins... of course, I splurged on a nice steak that was on sale tonight and had steak with garlic butter... enough fat to kill Godzilla, probably... but it would have been better with bread.
Looks yummy, but I only make bread in the bread machine nowadays. I have a recipe for Garlic Cheese bread that's vey good. It's actually the Onion Cheese recipe that came with the Zo Breadmaker, but Clare doesn't like the onion, so I tried it with Garlic instead. Mmmm.
we had sausage soup...really good but it would have been better with bread too...the plan is to make some tomorrow so that we can have it with the soup that's left.
must get baby to bed!
mrsnad
