Oh no! Dead stick landings, (prop not turning), on the beach should be made parallel to the surf line unless I raise the wheels. Ouch this is gonna leave a mark.

Just kidding. I like what yall did with N106DF. Conspiracy Guy's ultimate testament to his faith in the Good Lord. If I built it and flew it I had Faith!

Pinging self for earmarking

BTW that is an actual picture of my former airplane. I built her in 96 and sold her in 2000. The real picture was her sitting on the taxi way. Billie added the beach and the surf.

"...satellites are limited in the amount of time they spend over a particular target.."

This is true, but they have a lot of satellites, and moving to another angle of view adds information. I have no doubt anything of real interest is studied by multiple passes, stereo-imaging, multi-spectral, time differentiated, infra-red before and after, and perhaps other techniques as well.

With synthetic aperture radar, as well as side-scan, they can also add the photographic information. Or they could use multi-spectral synthetic aperture radar, using frequencies very close to infra-red.

Nothing on the surface can be hidden very well, and most applications require equipment to move across the surface at some point in its development.

I would also like to add that any money we spend on this kind of information gathering is a trememdously worthwhile investment. Even for peacetime uses, the information about crop health, and rainfall quantities, is valuable. Proper interpretation of multi-spectral information will yield clues about ore locations, and biological data. For clues about how the information is derived, examine reports from the Mars explorers.

Looks like some of the lakes in Alabama. Surrounded by hills and serene. We used to love to land on an empty lake and shut down. Then we had to worry about getting back out.
